Such a lovely quirky old pub! Have been wanting to visit due to the Hot Fuzz connection but this place outdid itself on everything. If we could give 6 stars we would. The lamb was absolutely amazing and well worth the money!
Honestly, this is my favourite pub I've ever been to. The vibe, the staff, and the food are 10/10. The staff are so friendly and super on it! The food was great and the table we had reserved was cosy and next to a window. The Sunday roast was delicious, and the Yorkshire pudding was massive and soo
Such an amazing place, every corner, nook and cranny had something interesting to see! Plus the food was wonderful, from homemade sausages to hand-raised pies and some of the crispiest pork belly ever. 100% recommended. If we were close by this would be on our regular list.

Boasting a plethora of nooks and crannies to explore and intriguing knick-knacks lining the walls, this pub - claiming to be the oldest in England - has a surprinsgly warm and welcoming atmosphere, despite it's spooky past 🍻 The Royal Standard of England has over 800 years of rich history - much of
The majority of the food was very nice with a few disappointing dishes/items such as “seasonal vegetables” that was two different types of courgette served in oily water. There were also a number of items that we were informed were unavailable after placing our initial order. It would have been usef
One of the oldest pubs in the UK. This pub is 900 years old. Beautiful original features throughout the property including stained glass windows, wooden beams and sunny courtyard. Great for food or just having a drink. Will visit again when I'm next in town.
Lovely Sunday lunch, dropped one star as the lunch could have been warmer and it cooled rapidly on the non hot plates...... Having said that, it did taste delicious, and the chocolate marquise was gorgeous!
The most atmospheric pub dining experience I have had, incredible decor as the place is 900 years old. Many of it is hundreds of years old but by far the most redeeming factor is the food quality, food here is expensive but it seems you get what you pay for. I have now visited 3 times and eaten dif
What a fantastic historic location. Had an amazing Sunday lunch and table right by one of the fire places. The rustic atmosphere and staff are brilliant. Generous portions and reasonable prices, as well as good parking.

This 900 year old pub is a bit of a bidden track. The journey will be worth it all day long. Our group enjoyed an amazing meal here. The prices are slightly higher than your usual pub meals. The pork belly is to die for. The fish was also enjoyed. In fact the food was the most amazing food. It is de
