Really good quality fish and chips. Great to see them making everything from scratch which definitely added to the whole experience. We waited a fair while to get in which was one of the few bad points but overall I would be back if I was visiting the Beamish again.
This is my favourite Fish & Chip shop in the country bar none.
Coal powered fryers and chips cooked in beef dripping as they should be. You can get a full portion of Fish and Chips or go for a Dab and Chips which is a half lot of fish with chips.
Sometimes tje queue can be long and you may have to
Stunning, period interior features. Chips were perfect. Not had anything made that way before. Swerved the fish. Maybe next time?
Best fish and chips ever. Fried in a traditional way using beef fat just like the early 1900s.
Overall a great experience you get to really see how they make fish and chips, quality, fresh and delicious meal que can get long dependant on time but still worth the wait.
Lovely classic fish and chips, limited seating and long queues but that’s all part of the experience!
Fish and chips the proper way. Weekends are a bit of a mare because of wait times but good quality food at a good price
Had really good fish and chips, cooked the old fashioned way. The queue was long but well worth the wait.
Absolutely beautiful food. Little bit pricey but you expect that when your out and about
Yes there is a waiting time maybe 20 to 40 minutes but we'll worth it, And you do get a good portion. 👍
Davy's Cafe is inside Beamish Museum. Original fish & chips cooked in original fat . And very nice they are aswell.
A bit slow, but superb fish and chips!
The food is ok, but the portions are way too small for the price you have to pay.....£3.50 Chips, £3.60 Dab (small piece of fish), Chips & Dab £7, Fish & chips £10.50......drinks are a small bottle of fizzy drink £2.75, Water £1.50, they do small carton Apple or Orange, but not sure of the price. I
Long queue but lovely chips at the end of it.
£8 for a great big fish and chip, just gotta wait about an hour in line and scramble to get a seat.
Fish and chips cooked the old fashioned way, in beef dripping. Not the healthiest of meals but definitely the tastiest and worth experiencing. Unfortunately, the queues are very long at peak times. Maybe worth waiting until later in the day to experience a great taste from the past when the queue sh
Great bear battered and dripping fried fish and chips with a generous portion. Not for those on a low calorie or low fat diet!
Not giving 5 stars due to the hour and 15 minute wait (arrived at end of queue 12.15pm Wenesday of mid-Feb school half-term), possibly due to there only being two staff wor
