Fabulous find! Lovely and friendly pub.
Excellent selection of beers, ales, gin and cider (rhubarb cider recommendation!). Serious shout out to Anne the chef! We had a chicken and leek pie and a steak and ale pie with mash and they were absolutely outstanding! Home made pastry and the filling was delicious and the mash was so good. Clean plates all round. Dog friendly and she loved all the fuss. Highly recommended.
Lovely country pub. Very pleasant landlord serving local ales and some incredible burgers, varieties include Venison, Ostrich, Crocodile, Zebra, wild boar and many others!
There's not a bad word to say about the horseshoes. Fantastic owners that have really made it the heart of the community and more! Great food and great beers with a wide selection of spirits and mixers.
We recently had our wedding reception there with the government guided 15 person reception and my word the pub done an absolutely wonderful job! Me, my now wife and our family had an amazing day and so well catered for.
Couldn't speak more highly of the place. Highly recommended local pub!
Excellent Sunday roast and well kept Green Jack ales. We just managed a dessert, bread and butter pudding & strawberry sundae which were delicious. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Piped music could be a bit more varied otherwise a lovely visit.
I enjoyed a well kept pint and a reasonably priced meal. Proper crispy lettuce in the salad none of those horrid looking dressed leaves. Dog friendly and attractive decor.
My old local. Ask about lunch parties. They are normally closed but might open for a decent sized group.
UPDATE - Just had the most amazing lunch for my Dad's 80th Birthday. Dad's day was made even more special by the wonderful kindness from all the staff. Thank you for making his day.
Amazing country pub. I had the steak pie, chips and veg and it was amazing. Totally home made. Nothing shop bought or mass produced about the food. Will definitely be returning and making it our regular go to pub. Dogs also made very welcome.
Lovely pub and restaurant (with ample parking). Landlord Andy was a congenial host who welcomed us immediately. After a drink at the cosy bar, we went to the restaurant where there were a few people already seated. We were served a lovely meal - the menu had more than ample choices. The ambience on the restaurant was pleasant and convivial. We retired to the bar for coffee etc and ended a very pleasant evening.
Will definitely go again and will recommend to friends to do likewise.
A pretty country pub serving lovely food. An outside garden, safe for children. Real ales and a VERY SMILEY LANDLORD, if he's not just shout ' Oi Misery' how are you. Much love 😍
As I didn't want the Sunday Roast I asked if there was an alternative.I was offered Lasagne. This was superb! There's also a choice of pies which I've sampled on a previous visit and I can recommend those too!
