On holiday,
been in this village pub a few times this week with our dog .we arrived in on sat with a quiz going on, so while having our drink the barman brought over some dishes with caramelised sausage bites, rst potatoes and some chips for us to nibble at was superb and the dog got a biscuit.
We were made to feel like locals so tonight we Went back and had a lovely home cooked meal. What a gem of a place the staff are a credit to this village pub �
What a fabulous village pub �me my hubby Ned and our dog Jack had a walk to the Bay Horse from a nearby campsite on Sunday. After helping to get the fire going� it soon filled up with all the locals who were very friendly and even asked us if we wanted to enter the meat draw.... Even though the meat hadn't arrived! We had to decline as we were leaving the next day but it was lovely to be asked � we had a bowl of homemade chips to pick at and they were the nicest chips ever so hats off to the young lady who cooked them! We will definitely be back to this fabulous little pub �cheers xx
Never been to the pub but what a gorgeous village. I stopped there on the bike, on my way to Hawes and fell in love with the place. Next time, I try the pub.
1st class great little find while on holiday, very friendly pub and food was good home cooked . We both enjoyed our steak and ale pie. Will hopefully get here again
The steak i had was excellent, my wife had scampi and loved it. Chips were really well cooked old fashioned thick cut. It was great to see the pub busy with locals and visitors alike, dog friendly as well so we all could enjoy it.
Lovely home cooked meal nice friendly hosts . Nothing too much trouble. Will go again

We wandered up to the Bay Horse for lunch, I had the steak and my wife had the beef lasagne. Both were excellent, well cooked and tasty. We loved the chips. We will be back next time we are in the area.

Ordered some food for a group at really short notice, presuming to be told they couldn’t accommodate but couldn’t have been more wrong. Wonderfully kind people, who went out of their way to provide a prompt and quality service! Whilst I’m not from the area, if I do journey to Crakehall, I’ll be visiting here. Thank you all very much. Lovely, traditional pub, blazing fires and friendly landlord. Best to let them know you are coming in the winter months. Good mannered dogs welcome.
We had our Sunday lunch here, all home cooked food, the Roast Beef was absolutely beautiful. The staff were helpful, attentive and genuinely considerate. It was clean and tidy too. I would definitely recommend and visit again.
Cheers to Brian, Kim and Pete, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. The locals were very friendly and soon welcomed us into their midst.. Really excellent village pub. Food was great too. Looking forward to returning in September.

We stopped off here for an early dinner following a 3 hour walk with our dog. The landlord made us very welcome. We had lasagne and scampi and didn't have to wait long for our meals to arrive. The food was lovely and the chips amazing! Wouldn't hesitate to go back next time we're in the area.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Limited menu however. Friday is fish and chips night but advance booking is essential. Dogs very welcome.
Turned up on the off chance. Had a lovely meal very fresh everything was homemade. The customer service was second to none highly recommend.Can't wait to go back.
Very friendly place and a great spot to sit in the sun for a pint. Safely socially distanced and a pleasant walk from Bedale.
Mike Sands had no idea what he's talking about!! great food , beer & welcome think we were the only 2 holidaymakers in there very busy with locals really can't fault it. Will definitely be back if we're over this way again . Lincolnshire pubs could learn a lot here . Thank you 🙂
