Another excellent meal at The Plough on Good Friday from their special fish menu, tasty roast hand dived scallops, followed by the best lobster I have ever had and accompanied by some decent wine. Nice buzz to the place, warm, friendly service and not surprisingly packed out.

Superb food as always and service second to none. I recommend the Fixed Price Menu- it never fails to impress. Our family favourite since it opened and we all eat out regularly at plenty of places but this the restaurant we use to measure and grade others.

Small signage by the road, if you blink you'll miss the tiny white sign, so check where it is before you head out. Booking is highly advised. You can do this online. You have to do a pre authorisation on your card, and if you're a no show, and the table cannot be re sold, you're charged at £30 per head. 3 areas of eating, oak room, or the dining room, or bar. The oak room looks out into the garden and is very pleasant.. Service was fast and efficient. Food was well presented, and tasty. Portions are fairly small. This isn't the kind if establishment you can just roll up to expecting a hearty meal... To note.... the desserts are definitely worth having !!! My only criticism is the number of staff. They seemed to be everywhere, circling like vultures and at one point even stood next to the table. Its very uncomfortable when you're trying to have a private conversation, and our bread plates were removed whilst one of us was still actually eating the bread !! Tasty yes, relaxing, no.

Exquisite food for special occasion as quite pricy. Will recommend to go for mains and desserts. Starters very nice but small quantity.

Great service! We didn’t have any reservation and they were able to find us a table despite the fact they were full. The food is absolutely delectable, from the starters to the main dish and the dessert. We had the tomato soup with their fresh sourdough bread and cultured butter, then the smoked rib flank and the peach lavender cream as well as the chocolate pot. Definitely worth every pound and affordable for what you get.

Wonderful food and experience. Everything is made on site and is amazing. The service was so good. We can't wait to come back. Especially loved the homemade bread, olives, soufflé, venison carpaccio, octopus... Thanks so much to Towers Gym for the gift and the introduction

Popped in on the off chance we could be seated for lunch. Myself I had the duck which was perfect and husband had the cod which he also enjoyed. We both chose the orange soufflé with almond ice cream and orange sauce, outstanding………..best dessert I/we have ever had (husband usually prefers three scoops of vanilla ice cream for a dessert wherever we go!!)

Service was brilliant, very quick and the right level of attentiveness. Extremely lovely and polite staff. It was clean and the presentation of the table and food was beautiful. The food was delicious. My only drawback was the menu which was unnecessarily complicated.

Absolutely beautiful food and staff were lovely. Everything is cooked fresh and the place was very busy. I could not recommend it enough. Will definitely eat here again.

For a special meal out this is a fabulous venue. Spoke before hand with Andrea who was extremely helpful sending details of their current menu. As we are Vegetarian we wanted to make sure there would be something suitable for us to enjoy. They offer 2 menus both with various choices; The Seam which is a set menu £29 for 2 courses and £35 for 3 and we chose from their Furrow menu £47 for 2 courses and £58 for 3. We just preferred the Vegetarian options on this. Beautiful food well presented and tasted lovely. Recommend the Josper grilled aubergine & courgettes, cauliflower couscous, tempura aubergine, lemon & red pepper salsa & basil for mains and Strawberry Soufflé for dessert. For me a good restaurant cooks food you wouldn't cook easily, if at all, at home and this does just that. Today we were seated by Kerry who brought over some lovely homemade bread and pesto to start as we read the menu. Once ordered we were looked after by Jessie who did a fantastic job looking after us and was very attentive without intruding on our meal. Both ladies were friendly, professional, helpful, polite and efficient. They were also happy and smiled which makes a huge difference when you go out to enjoy a meal. Glad we tried this restaurant and will book again when there are other Vegetarian dishes as they change the menu periodically. We are not the only ones who know about this place though as it was almost full by the time we finished which surprised us as it was Thursday lunch lunch time. We were in the beautiful Oak room there is also a dining room and plenty of outside seating and tables too. Definitely recommend booking as they do seem incredibly popular.

Very fancy and beautiful place and the food was absolutely delicious. It is one of those places that serves less to be fancier though, meaning many of the meals were unbalanced due to lack of the accompanying bits. I had a lamb chump and it was cooked to perfection, and had an incredible sauce - but there was less than half of what was needed for the meat. All of the food we ordered was like that in one way or another. So it's great, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it as it will leave you slightly irritated.

A lovely evening all round, great food, attractive surroundings, brilliant service. The really stand out thing was the welcome from the team. As we walked through to the garden each waitress we passed made eye contact and smiled. A simple thing but as a customer it makes you feel important and valued. Thank you.
