Beautiful setting with fabulous breakfast. Would definitely recommend the breakfast potatoes and a bacon sandwich. Was so good we even got cake to take home - no complaints, we’ll be back asap!

It's a nice little café down by the water side. A lovely little spot to sit down and enjoy a drink and a snack and watch the wildlife on the boating lake. Loads of space to go for a walk along the river and surrounding area. The butterfly bridge is close by too and you'll most probably walk over it to get to this café. All in all its a great area to visit and enjoy a quiet moment.

Dog friendly, friendly staff, wicked views and a superb meal and coffee. (My boy also got his sausage fix so he's happy)
Get yourselves down to this hidden gem in Bedford!

Beautiful spot with amazing food and hot drinks, staff was really helpful and friendly. Just the view and spot with good food makes the day perfect. Thank you The Longholme for this great experience

This is my favourite cafe in Bedford. The food is wonderful, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is really laid back.
It is a lovely place to go all year round. In the summer sitting in the shade or the sun enjoying a cold drink and a lunch with a friend or in the winter enjoying a steamy rich hot chocolate whilst wrapped in a blanket watching the world go by.
What’s not to like?
There is a wide menu that caters for vegetarian and gluten free too.

Food is excellent & plentiful. Staff very polite & helpful. Great place to stop & relax with a lovely view of the river. We have been several times & somewhere we will keep going.

The perfect place to come for brunch after walking round the river! The staff are always lovely, service is super quick and the food is amazing (shout out Ollie)! Especially the buns! Paula was lovely and gave a treat to our dogs.

Healthy and tasty meals with a waterside view. Potato dish could do with some sauce though.

A fabulous spot with a great buzz, nice friendly staff (service a little slow sometimes) and unexpectedly good food, pricey but genuine value. One gripe - why do I always get asked if I want milk when I order a black americano?! So many places do it, hilarious.

Exactly what you would hope for. Really tasty food, lovely atmosphere and service, relaxed and a thoroughly nice experience. I met a friend here (she has a 6 month old and I have a 4 year old) and it was perfect for both. Baby changing facilities in the spacious and clean toilet, a lunch box option for my little one and relaxed seating with plenty of room. Longholme Hash was delicious, I asked for mine with scrambled eggs rather than fried and it was scrummy. Will most definitely go again 👍🏻

I absolutely love this cafe! The food is delicious, and as a vegetarian, I truly appreciate the selection of vegetarian options available. The service is always so friendly, and the cafe's charming location adds to the overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Fabulous little lakeside cafe. Paula our server was very kind and helpful, food sublime, the Halloumi Homage a highlight. Recommended

A lovely, peaceful cafe alongside the river with a good atmosphere. Served by a lovely lady called Paula who was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend to others!

We came here for Brunch and were seated quickly. There was not a long wait for our order though the place was quite full. The food & atmosphere was amazing. Wish I knew of this gem sooner. You’ve definitely got a customer for life now 😊

Just popped in here for the first time. We chose to have soup. Four flavours on offer. Quality ingredients, great flavours, good sized portion. Also a good selection of coffees with oat milk option too. Friendly service. Beautiful outdoor surroundings. We didn't need the blankets but they're there just in case it's chilly. A nice touch. Look forward to returning here in the near future.

The Longholme is the perfect spot for a bite to eat or to warm up with a delicious hot chocolate (my son can’t get enough) or the best coffee in town, no one comes close!!! We recently had an amazing evening for Halloween there and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Last night we were at ‘Gin Yard’ - it’s blown us away, delicious food, tasty cocktails, and a beautiful setting. The Longholme staff were fabulous and we had a fantastic evening. Thank you for having us!!

I've visited twice and would definitely recommend. Such a pretty setting, really good value & they even had a gluten free brownie I could eat! So lovely to have somewhere friendly and relaxed, with a great team of staff that makes the most of our beautiful river setting!

Was the perfect spot for breakfast and to have such a picturesque view around, I would definitely come again. Food was delicious and very good price too

Delicious food, amazing service and a beautiful view from the boats. Iced latte and breakfast hash second to none, visit every time I’m in bedford, highly recommended.

Called in for a bite whilst out dog-walking
Very busy, so it took some time for the food to be delivered. Not a bad problem to have, though!
A tad on the expensive side, but the food was top quality and the place is dog-friendly.
Will return, I'm sure

The Longholme is my favourite place to sit and have a coffee and some good food in a beautiful setting. The staff are all so lovely and friendly, the choice is really good and the setting speaks for itself. We also attended The Gin Yard last night and had a brilliant evening. The cocktails and food were delicious with the service and ambiance to match. A really great evening and we hope you do another one!!

A fantastic place in the heart of Bedford which is an ideal place to stop whilst walking your dog and they are very accommodating for dogs and are always willing to cook an extra sausage for my little dog. The staff are happy and friendly and an asset to the business. I wish them well x

I LOVE The Longholme! Tom and Andreas have transformed Bedford river and made it an absolute joy to walk around again, knowing there is an amazing cafe with delicious food and drink and excellent service en route. I’m a huge fan and love stopping in for brunch/lunch/a cake pit stop or just to grab a takeaway coffee for the walk. The evening events are great fun too, loved the outdoor cinema experience and hope to come to another again soon. I also love how dog friendly you are, looking after the pooches with water and biscuits, my dog is a loyal fan too! Thank you for making walks around the river a real treat!

We have always frequented the 'Boating Lake' cafe when on our cycle rides!! First time yesterday at the new 'upmarket' Longholme Cafe - very elegantly refurbished love the courtyard esp for those with young children( lots of activities for them) a good view of boating lake from the new enclosed area! Lovely food, friendly service!!!!! Well certainly be returning on a regular. said and will be telling our friends & family!!! Well done to the new owners, wishing you great success!

Love this little place to go to after a walk along the beautiful Embankment.
The staff are friendly and welcoming, they always have seasonal things going on for all ages.

I dropped in yesterday for a drink and a bite. Nicely done up and renovated. Food quality good (bacon and egg baguette (served on a sliced bloomer- supplier issues). Only gripe was the size of the latte. Served in a short tumbler and looked like 1/2 the size of a normal latte, but at the original cost. i would ask the owners to take a look at that sizing vs cost issue. Besides that nice to sit and pass the time
