Very disappointed. Have been coming here for several years. There were some glitches here and there reopening after Covid. We were here few months ago and ordered calamari, haddock and shrimp tacos. Calamari was good and the haddock was two good size pieces. We went again two and half weeks ago around 8.30 pm on a Saturday and the place wasn't busy at all. Servers were friendly and attentive. We ordered calamari to share and haddock and fish cakes as main course. Calamari came totally overcooked and was dark brown color. Haddock arrived and was just one piece and the preparation was different from what we had here in the past. My fish cakes were the most disappointing. They were the size of small risotto balls. Nothing like what one would expect fish cakes would be. We are not really into big portions but this was really surprising. And NO, I am not going to tell my disappointments about the food to the server. I worked in the industry and I know how this would change the dynamic between the server and the diner. Server is not responsible for the portion of the food being served and a cook knows if the calamari is over cooked and inedible before put it in the plate and send it to the dining room. I hate to write a bad review and I know the owner does not like anything less than 4 stars and will verbally attack you here below the review. One could see the pattern on the reviews below. I am not sure what happened to this place. Used to be a fun place with good food and awesome staff.

Ya know, the first time I was here, it was 11:30 am on a Sunday. We came here tonight for dinner and drinks. I was really impressed with the bartender, he knew his stuff Also, the food. Spinach and artichoke dip is always the thing I order, and I can't help myself..... everything was delicious and service was fantastic!

Food was just NOT good Service was fine, but the value for the money was just Not there. Caesar chicken salad leaves you still hungry as the chicken portion was tiny. Steak sandwich, could not cut through the bun, gravy was like sludge. Sorry, but for the prices the meal was a big disappointment. Could Do slot better 😒

Great atmosphere and the wait staff was very attentive. Unfortunately the meals (had the specials, salmon for one and steak for the other) were subpar. The asparagus was not tender and the steak was rubbery and over seasoned. We didn't say anything because the service industry has had enough bruises these days. I hope it was just an off night. Overall, we didn't feel as though we got our money's worth.

We attend Finbars all the time and the food is excellent. That changed Jul 18 This review has no reflection on the servers as they are always perfect. The four of us started with 2 orders of stuffed cremini mushrooms The mushrooms were not “stuffed” but topped and they were not all cook through. We let the server know and she was very apologetic and offered us other food choices to replace. We were not looking for that but just wanted it passed on. Two of ate the rest while the 2 could not. About 15 mins later the sever returned with deep fried mushrooms stating “l know you didn’t want anything else, but here you go”. Now these deep fried mushrooms were very over cook to the point it appeared that it was done on purpose. The rest of the entrees were served. I had the peach spinach salad and soup. The spinach was fresh but still has all the stems on and it was a very dry salad with the peaches being wafer then and almost like apple slices. My friend order a chicken Caesar salad and only finished half. He said a 10 year could have made a better one and the chicken on it tasted horrible. We all agreed that Finbar’s food certainly has slipped to the point we may never return. Hopefully this is a one off.
