Just moved into the neighborhood, and decided to try Happy Phoenix, though with some slight trepidation because of recent negative reviews. Don't believe them! Ordered a couple starters (sesame prawn toast and pork dumplings) and three mains (Singapore fried rice Kung Pao chicken, and the black pepper sauce house special). All items were delicious, and the food came out much faster than the initial estimate. Much better than takeaway standard - this is a really worthwhile place to try out. Highly recommended.
The lady boss is very easy-going, the staff is patient, the delivery personnel are professional and punctual with delivery times, and most importantly, it's the tastiest Chinese takeaway I've ever had.

The food was of a very high quality and very hot on arrival both times.
It was that good there was nothing left for the next day.

Always hot and tasty! Since new owners have been there we have never had a bad Chinese! Especially the satay chicken starter and beef in black been, ooo and the chow mein is soooo good.
Ordered the Set Meal for 2 for collection.
Satay chicken skewers and ribs were excellent.
The sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style was divine.
The beef and green peppers in black bean sauce was also very tasty.
Most importantly, everything was hot and freshly cooked. How do I know? Because I arrived a bit early and watched them cooking it!
Finally, no MSG aftertaste after eating the meal nor the next morning!

The first order we decided to try was Roast Pork Chop Suey, Kung Po Beef and Special Fried Rice. Roast Pork Chop Suey was delicious. Kung Po Beef was a bit bland, and Special Fried Rice contained more Chicken than anything else but was nice.
Ordered for a second time, I had the same Chop Suey as i loved it, hubby went for Sezuan Beef, I said to make it a bit more spicy, they certainly did, maybe a bit too much haha. Chips were a disappointment but Special Fried Rice was a better mix of the ingredients listed
Best Chinese takeaway in Beeston. Try the Malaysian Sambal Fried Rice if you can handle spiciness. Its amazing and pretty authentic Malaysian. Will order again
After Wing Xing went from great to a total disappointment, the hunt was on for a new Chinese. Tried a couple which were decent but nothing special. Happy pheonix isn't on any of those online order sites, so I went and got a menu from the place and it was worth checking it out, don't let the aged shop front fool you, this place does some great takeaway,
I have to mention the crispy chilli beef, the best I've ever had from a Chinese as it was actually crispy and not gone soft from resting in its sauce too long, you could tell this stuff was fresh and it actually tasted of beef!
Everything else was great too and the pricing is competitive, they even threw a bag of prawn toasts (again better than others I've tried) and veg samosas on the house along with the standard prawn crackers. The woman on the phone was very polite and the order arrived pretty much exactly at their estimated time of 30 mins.
This is going to be a regular from now on for sure!

We love Happy Phenix. The ribs are amazing. The staf is very friendly and they are almost the onlyones who has dim sum. We can't live without our local chinese.xx
