Can't fully rate because I went alone and did not try the shabu. Service was quirky, kinda slow for drinks. Food Wakame salad was great, Garlic Miso Ramen threw me for a loop as I came just for ramen soup but this was ramen noodles. Suggestion would be to add option of broth for ramen. House sake was great for $4.

came here on a Tuesday night, dead as can be, the host was extremely friendly and informative, letting us know right away that they will not be serving sushi until next year but there are also other great selection. according to my boyfriend, the decor of this place hasnt been changed at all since the last time he was here which was 10 years go. you can see the thick layer of dust that had gather on the drapes. the decor aside, i have to give this place 4 stars because the host was extremely on it! we got the all you can eat, and because we came before 6 we get two free appetizer(no sushi)(the wrap was a little burnt but was good, the chicken karaage was meh), we wanted the szechuan hot pot, she said it was spicy, it wasnt really... but she also mention that if it wasnt spicy enough she can add more hot pepper. all the meat were pre cut, so we didnt have to wait very long for the next tray. its a little pricey for what it is... and that might be the ultimate reason why this would be a one time deal for us.

Beautifully fresh veggies, but the broth and sauces weren't anything special. Staff was very quick and professional, but it's not going to become my go-to shabu.

All-you-can-eat is a pretty good deal. Extremely friendly and caring owners. They even gave me chocolates for valentines day!

The hostess has some mental problem she talks really fast with strong accent and attitude. She refused to present us in and hang up on us when we called earlier. We drive all the way up here and she is telling us different stories. Firstly saying shrimps are included and then when we arrived she said we need to upgrade 12$ to have the shrimp. She talks with shivering voice and seems like she has mental problem. The restaurant is really empty and dark, old furnishings and menu has moles on it with really limited choices. The price is 33.5 + tax. That’s the worst service we had in 2 years. Very horrible experience and strongly recommended NOT going ! P.S. My friend is a doctor and I work as data scientist

I ate dinner there with a group of friends who had already ordered. While my girlfriend ordered the 'All you can eat' plan, I said 'I want just 2 side dishes.' At the end of the meal, they charged me as well for the All you can eat plan, then argued with me, saying that I did not say I didn't want the plan, when I specifically said I just want 2 specific side dishes. In all, 2 plans, including their forced 18% tip, comes out to over 95 dollars. I was overcharged 36 dollars for mediocre food, and was told by my friends that the hot pot was lousy. I'd recommend Tasty Pot for good hot pot in Berkeley; it's always near capacity, whereas this place had only 4 tables full at Friday dinner.

This was my first hot pot restaurant it definitely delivered in terms of food. The meat and veggies were all very fresh and the atmosphere was very chill and communal. It was awesome for a small group of friends hankering for some freshly boiled entrees. The AYCE deal was the best since we were starving and everything looked really good. The restaurant itself is a bit on the smaller side... let's call it intimate. Be sure to call in advance to reserve a table or you'll be waiting and hungry and possibly cold from the Berkeley weather.

The inside is very nice and hidden from the main street so it's not too loud. It's a nice place to eat outside in the winter because they have heaters so it's cozy to me. The shabu shabu is expensive so if you want it, then for it. I really like the lunch time specials here, especially their noodle dishes. They give you soup (tastes good), salad (tastes good), gyozas (tastes good) and a big bowl of noodles. The price is really great for lunch time and the food is great. The waitress for the afternoon is so sweet and is very attentive. I highly recommend coming here for lunchtime rather than dinner hours.
