The Gatsby

This is a very nice place indeed. It's a converted 1930's cinema and has been converted with a very sympathetic touch. The staff as excellent and looked after us very well. Now to the food. Absolutely beautiful food cooked and presented perfectly. Not too flashy and just the right portion size. Price wise just what I would expect to pay for quality food, service, surroundings and atmosphere. Not cheap but not overly expensive. If I did have one negative comments it would be that it got a bit noisy at one point but it is popular and we sat next to the pianist, but it did get better. We went on a Friday night (8pm). Was really quiet, only one other table. Service fab, restaurant is beautiful and food was delicious. My husband said the fillet was the best steak he has ever had! I really enjoyed my seabass fillet and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world! Will definitely come again!

You NEED to eat here. After a couple of visits and sampling the delicious menu we decided to book our wedding reception here. Nick was extremely helpful, talking us through all the steps and suggesting times and the general ‘flow’ of the evening. Without his input it would’ve been a lot more difficult putting together the event. On the day Nick was there to keep everything running smoothly. The chefs at The Gatsby are absolute Artisans – There was no shortage of absolutely top rate food. I am always apprehensive of ‘Wedding food’ as it has a reputation…but our food was stand-out – Wish I could eat that meal again, It was brilliant. All our guests have commented on how stunning The Gatsby is as a location, and how delicious and plentiful the food was. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I cannot fault them. If you are looking at a place to hold an event or a wedding reception – The Gatsby would take some beating!
