We had a special afternoon tea delivered by Chris. Could not fault it. Everything delicious, fresh, well presented and on time. Emily and Chris always go the extra mile and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 100%

We’ve just had the most amazing takeaway afternoon tea from The Travellers Rest. I ordered in advance online and the communication was excellent. There was so much food that we couldn’t finish it all........it’s in the fridge and we’ll finish it before bed time! The chocolate brownie is to die for. Just get yourself there and try it........you won’t be disappointed

Visited The Travellers Rest today and very disappointed. Asked to be seated near the fire as the place was freezing. Even sat near the fire l had to put my coat on. The sandwich l had was not as good as what I have previously had there. I think the portions have been reduced. The teabags they used where cheap and poor quality but the price wasn't cheap. Won't be visiting again

Our 2nd visit in a week. With our dog - dog friendly. I had their pork pie ploughmans lunch with Ruby Crumble cheese wedge. Lovely, really so nice.

We have been numerous times and have never been disappointed. The three afternoon teas available are wonderful but you have to book 48 hours in advance. Do try the double pork pie dish, the scotch eggs and the sausage rolls. The seating is comfortable and the whole place feels welcoming. Try the Delli to take something home for later.

I have never been disappointed with the variety of snacks and drinks on offer here at reasonable prices. The staff just go the extra distance. They are attentive, helpful and efficient. I ordered egg mayonnaise sandwiches for instance. They were very fresh, satisfying, tasty and came with smashing coleslaw, potatoes and salad. Quite a substantial snack. My daughter was similarly impressed with her Coronation Chicken sandwiches. The choice is quite good and, if sandwiches are not what you want, there are lots of other alternatives available, including a good choice of afternoon teas. The establishment is comfortable and warm on a cold march day. This eatery is admittedly geographically peripheral but it really is worth a visit.
Try the superb Coronation Chicken sandwiches: fresh and very tasty!
