Delicious meals and generous portions really well presented too. We wanted to sit in shade but it did not detract from what was a beautifully cooked meal for us both. The fish was light and crispy
and the chicken pie with it's perfect pastry a treat. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely day in Beverley. Thank you.

Really good food and the staff are amazing!
We were just passing through really and decided to stop for a spot of food and so so glad we did, next time we're anywhere close and fancy food we will be coming back.

The cornerhouse (formally the valiant soldier) is an excellent pub, with a wide choice of changing hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. It is nicely appointed with TV for watching sports. A beer garden at the rear and home cooked food.

Popped in from the train for an Abbeydale Deception which was spot on. We had a few hours to wander around before going back home. There were no other decent beers in any of the other pubs so we wandered back later for another pint before home. There were quite a few in having breakfast but we only had a drin but it looked good. Will probably visit again next year.

Getting better. Looking forward to their food offering one the kitchen is refitted. Outside needs some attention but we're told that is going to happen.

Great beer excellent food deals welcoming and friendly staff

Only 2 beers on, but were well kept, one being replaced as just went as being pulled. Friendly staff, atmosphere was good, although quiet as was early evening on a weekday. Definitely be back next time we are in Beverley

Great selection of spirits, you lfind exactly what you want here. Cosy style pub, kept busy during the night but not so much you're having to shout to hear each other. Pictured - Pineapple Rum and Coke, Jamesons Orange Whiskey

Often spend an evening in here when visiting my friend in Beverley, it has a really pleasant "local" atmosphere, busy but not packed, mature clientele which suits me. Staff are friendly.

The food was expensive but very nice!

Saturday Lunch , a sharing platter with my daughter. We both really enjoyed it, obviously freshly prepared, plenty to eat. Especially enjoyed the baked Camembert. I has a good pint of real ale from the good selection. She had a gin & tonic. Nice clean authentic pub atmosphere, friendly staff.

Popped in to this place for a pint on the way home. Glad we did! Excellent range of ales; at least six on hand pump plus the usual keg selection of beer, lager and cider. Pleasant service and really nice decor. We didn't eat but it smelled nice and there was a decent list of meals up on a blackboard. Prices looked very reasonable and we'll be back to give it a go very soon.

This is possibly the best real ale and cider pub in Beverley. Down to 8 real ale pumps from a peak of about 12 but generally a great choice. The food is also generally very good. The seating can be limited with big tables occupied by one or two people so just summon up the courage and ask to share.

Spent a Saturday afternoon here and sampled several of their huge range of fine ales. All the ales are kept very well and served by pleasant and friendly staff.
The pub also features a good sized beer garden.
Excellent pub with a diverse range of ales and whisky.
Keith Baxter

Great place for a quick pint. Friendly atmosphere with attentive staff.

Service was poor, staff talking and serving friends before customers, 2 members of staff preparing shots, also previously had breakfast and asked for extra toast that didn't arrive. Have used corner house on many occasions but service seems to deteriorated.

I've been to The Cornerhouse a few times now, for breakfast and lunch mostly, and it has never disappointed. The portions are very reasonable for the money and the food itself is very good.
The service is not the quickest, but the staff are all very pleasant and very accommodating.
A minor irk would be the lack of a baby-changing station, but that would be it.
Very good value for money, in my opinion. Would recommend.

Nice pub and friendly staff and the best pub for a fry up and I am there almost every Saturday with two of my friends and one of them plus myself started going to Cornerhouse for a fry up in 2006 and it is still going great

Tuesday night, curry night, excellent meals and great service. Super friendly and welcoming staff.

Quick pint before a curry round the corner was the plan, but felt that comfortable and relaxed I ended up sat at the bar with a roast beef dinner which was excellent.
