Had a really excellent meal here. Beer garden and kids play area was ideal and staff were friendly and great with our little boy. We were warned there would be a 45 min wait but decided it was worth the wait and the staff made sure our table was ready as soon as possible. Would definitely return!

We had been doing some walking locally in Wyre Forest and decided to go for a meal, we had seen this pub on way so I initially tried to book a table whilst out and about - no luck, it kept telling me that the table I had chosen had just been got by someone else. After trying different times for about 10 mins I gave up and thought we would take a chance and pop in on way past. We got there and we really shouldn't have worried, loads of space! No idea what the website was doing.. ! We ordered food fairly swiftly and it didn't take overly long for food to come out. A couple of the meals were a bit larger than expected, which with a growing apetite I think was a welcome surprise. Food quality was generally OK and service was OK too, although considering the lack of people in the pub it did on occasion take a bit of time to grab attention for another drink, or to get more sauce for kids etc. I think we were all happy to have stopped by for food and a drink, so it all worked out well in the end! Kids also got to have a short go on the play area at the back - but it was only a small area!

A nice time at the Running Horse last night. The food was good, and the drinks were good too…loses a star for being slightly overpriced and not having the arancini! Unfortunately also ran out of captain Morgan’s spiced rum… Atmosphere was lovely, just a shame there wasn’t any table service outside.

Went there for a meal for my grandma's birthday and was greeted by amazing staff, beautiful service and nice atmosphere with music, sure sometimes the music doesn't match the building but there is always a song on for everyone, definitely will be coming back and do recommend to anyone who wants a nice meal out. Food is reasonably priced in the current economy, for 6 of us it came to £137.65 for meal, drinks and dessert

Had a lovely afternoon/evening here recently with our 3 young children. Lovely beer garden and play area which the kids enjoyed for a couple of hours. The food was excellent. The best review could only be the 3 empty kids plates we had. In fact, all plates were empty. It was delicious. Alongside the fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff, who were happy to help in every way, this is the perfect place to go to satisfy all ages.

We were camping near by and needed somewhere good to eat. Have visited 2 other pubs locally, I can say we were glad to come across the running horse today. The food was excellent. All 3 of us enjoyed all our food. And the beer was also well kept. The 2 ladies serving well also excellent. Highly recommend a visit here if you are in the area.

The food was excellent. They went out of their way to accommodate my wife. She had not been well and wanted just a plain salad with salmon. Despite it not being on the official menu they served it up. Staff were very friendly. Difficult to rate the atmosphere because it was a Tuesday evening and not very full. But it was clean and welcoming . I recommend this pub

Just returned home from a great meal here. My husband and I met up with my parents, brother and a very special family friend. The service was great from the moment we walked in. We all ordered different mains from the Sunday menu and they were all excellent. The atmosphere was very calm and cool, considering the warm weather outside. Nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to Debbie who made our little reunion even better.

We hadn't visited for some time after a couple of poor meals, but decided to give it another go. We were so pleased that we did as it's certainly improved. We were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. Hot drinks on a cold, wet day (yes it is August!) were very welcome as we browsed the menu. There was a good choice and the chickpea curry that we eventually both settled on was excellent. It was spicy and tasty and came with wild rice, poppadoms and flat bread. Very filling too! We were given as much time as we wanted to chat over another coffee and, later on, a pot of tea. We never once felt rushed. It was a shame to see the pub was nowhere near as busy as it once was (this is why the atmosphere mark is low) and I hope business will pick up again soon.

Visited as a group of 4. Had mains and desserts. Waiter very friendly and approachable. A little chilly in the building but put this down to there not being many in (Thursday night). Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Looking to book our Christmas meal meet up there.

Nice place to eat, the food was good. Our child's mac and cheese was, at best, a very disappointing portion. The child's started was massive, so I knew it wouldn't be too much of a problem for us. To others, im sure it would be. It was pretty much the smallest pot I have ever seen, even with the 1 stem of Brocoli in there. I'm very disappointed. The rest of the meal was good, the food was tasty. Service was OK. You could see they meant well but would benefit from some professional training. Handed plates across the table. Wasn't asked if one plate was finished. It just got taken away. Might sound picky, but the small things can improve places a lot. None of the above would stop us from going again as we all agreed it was a nice place to visit.

A friend and I went out for a sunday dinner to catch up and the service was friendly, attentive and quick. Our server Russell was especially good, and we appreciated his humour and hosting throughout the night. The food came quick and was nice and hot and a lot of it. Hope to come back again soon. A lovely visit!
