Popped in for a late lunch and a beer after completing a 5 mile walk from Bidford along the river to Cleeve Prior, via Marlcliff.
Drinks were sound and the fish and chips were gorgeous!! Service with a smile from everyone.
Just needs a lick of paint in places, and the toilets sorting out.
Still, excellent staff and fab food.
What a lovely pub down by the river watching the boats and people on it,it has a lovely atmosphere with polite staff with a good choice of beers and a great menu we will definitely be back
The food was outstanding, the menu is small, a hand full of choices but delicious
I would definitely come back here again.
The ambiance is warm and welcoming.
There’s not very many vegetarians options which I would of liked to see more of.
The bar area could be a little cleaner
(cobwebs around wall lights and a few flys buzzing around)
Glad we chose The Frog. Nice place to relax indoors or outside. Lovely terrace (could do with a bigger non smoking area or screening and maybe a bit of music) to enjoy the scenery. Staff were lovely, good range of drinks at usual prices and the food was great. Onion rings finished us off lol. Good place to visit though if you're in the area.
A great place to eat. In a nice location literally next to the River Avon and the Bidford bridge but benefit by having a car park. I have ate here a few times and I'm glad to say the food has remained consistently good on all occasions. Good independent pub grub and not your usual ghastly franchise pub fare The staff are a nice friendly bunch as well. Worth a check!
What a beautiful spot matched by some excellent pub food. Service is pretty quick, dogs welcome in the bar or in the garden.good selection of drinks on draught, highly recommend
We were actually just passing through and want to eat a snack. The starter was plentiful and very good! A very fine restaurant. Unfortunately we weren't hungry enough to try more
Lovely Sunday Lunch!
Good atmosphere, friendly service and good food, what else can you ask!
We were in desperate need for light entertainment in between a church wedding ceremony down the road which finished at 5pm and the wedding reception which didn't start until 7pm. Cue The Frog!
The pub sits on the river, so really wanted to get a table in the part overlooking the river, and although most of the tables were reserved for the evening service, the helpful waiter very kindly found us a spot.
We had a beer (Neck Oil) and wine (Sauvignon) and ordered some cheeky nachos. The drinks were good but the nachos a bit rubbish. For starters, we were on our second drink by the time they came, and they sort of looked a bit sad. It was basically a large bowl of cremated tortilla chips sprinkled with cheese and jalapenos, accompanied by 3 bowls of sauce (salsa, guacamole and sour creme).
Overall it was an adequate snack, but not much more. I think we could have made a much better version at home. The sauces were a bit runny and very reminiscent of those cheap dips you get in the deli counter at the supermarket. By the time you'd peeled off the top layer of cheesy nachos, you were left with just toasted chips.
I will say however, the burgers look insane, as they were brought out for another table and just wish I'd had one of them. The 4* represents our nachos, but daresay a return trip for burgers would score much higher! I will also mention the waiter that attended to us was excellent.
This was a stop off before going home great little pub by the River sunny day made it nice and relaxing can't comment on food everything was good .
