What a great place, stayed there 2 nights in caravan, price per night really good with electric hookup. Pub itself is small so need to book for food, all the staff are really nice n friendly and the food is to die for, it's superb, proper chips, not out the bag, melt in the mouth fish, hot double sp
Very nice pub with peaceful campsite to the rear. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent food and good beer to go with it. A long bus ride to buxton though.
We turned up without a reservation. We got served quickly for our drinks and food. The food were very good value and hearty portions. Super friendly.
Recently visited this charming pub again in the peak district. It is what we would class as a "proper pub"- great selection of well kept real ales, great staff ( particularly Jan) and good pub food, not overpriced either considering it is in the heart of the peak district, where others have over pr
We had lunch here before our walks near Thor's Cave. Plenty choices on lunch menu. Burger was great but fish & chips not. Chips could be improved. However, the service was quick and attentive.
Traditional pub in a lovely setting serving excellent pub food at a good price. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and a big thanks to them & the chef who managed to fit us in for meals even though we were after the cut off time on Fri and again when they were already fully booked on Sat. (Shoul
My experience here, as someone following a gluten free diet, was excellent. There are three homemade pies on the menu all of which come in a gluten free version, steak, lamb and veg. It made a refreshing change to find gluten free pastry on a pub menu. I hope other pubs follow in your footsteps!
We have had an amazing weekend. A group of us met there for our annual collifest and booked the whole site. Stevie and the staff made us so welcome. The food was great and there was even gluten a d dairy free options. We are all going back again next year
Great traditional pub in a really nice village. Friendly staff and locals. Fantastic beer garden I could have sat there all day enjoying the sunshine and views. A choice of traditional cask ales as well as a few lagers and ciders. Great pitstop if your doing the Tissington trail.
Yeah it's was alright I'd go again. We stopped in our small camper for the night. It was £25 for one night and then you had to buy your food aswell which is strange as most pubs I know just make you buy some grub and booze from the pub so it's a costly night stay or it could be after a few to many 🤣
Without question the best pub food I've had for years if not ever. Fantastic choice, lovely taste, good sized portions. Served without delay by very friendly staff. Worth booking in advance to ensure getting a table.
A pleasant unplanned stop for a drink and light lunch. Great value tasty good. Good range of beers and spirits. Polite helpful service from the staff. Nice outside area to watch the world go by just a short stroll off the Tissington trail
A great walkers/caravan site pub with a nice atmosphere & attentive friendly staff. A good menu, the food was home cooked & delicious & they served a good range of beers. The chips were a little burnt this time but we won't let that put us off!
booked three outside tables during covid-19 pandemic, arrived 1:30pm on friday after hiking and plenty of outdoor seats for diffetent households. staffs were friendly, meals were tasty
Food was the highlight, great food, good choice and tastey food delivered in timely manner. Downside was that pub wasnt very homely (no fire and decor needed freshening up) and draught ale options all very similar (all 3 were pale ales). Lovely staff and managing well in these Covid times.
Excellent food today . Fantastic home cooked . Washed down with a few nice draft pale ales. The wife said her haddock was good . The cheese burger was excellent . All round lovely lunch . In a relaxing quiet and beautiful place in the world. Covid safe environment , well done . Will deffo visit agai
Very pleasant olde worlde pub in a lovely location. Great beer garden plenty of space. Not eaten there but menu looked good. Its always a great place for an after hike pint.
What a find! Staying in Hartington we googled pubs near us and this gem was top of the list. The landlady was brilliant and her hospitality, beer, and food were fantastic. As she put it 'we're a pub that sells food, not a restaurant that sells beer!' Long may it continue Waterloo, a great proper boo
