I gave it 4* as it was cold in the room as they turned the heating off at night and only put one radiator on before we arrived. It was a listed building with single glazed windows and high ceilings. It needs the heating on all the time to keep the place warm. They provided blankets for us for the second night. The hotel is beautiful.
Came on the 5th of may for my engagement , blown away by the beauty of the place so peaceful , lovely people who looked after us and the gardens , so gorgeous and relaxing , if you want a relaxing break in a beautiful place ,this place is perfect ,
Because I'm disabled and no lift got the box room, for the low shower
Reason for low room score, also no cooked breakfast or bar open. I know it's not high season, but repeat customers stem from times like these.
Would return
Lovely and traditional old hotel and if you go with those expectations you won't be disappointed. Shame breakfast was limited to just cold continental, but for the price we were very happy and would definitely return.
Lovely old hotel, slightly faded grandeur but well looked after and some lovely features. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Fabulous location for walking on the moors. A little distant from Bingley on foot.
Beautiful building and very friendly, helpful staff. A cooked breakfast would have been nice, but we did know that wasn't on the cards
A fading giant of a traditional cotton barons 19th century family home, stone exterior and oak and dark wood elegance inside.
It seems as though it’s undergoing a slow and methodical enhancement. My room was chipped old oak furniture around a four poster and the kettle lead on an old wobbly side table didn’t reach to the electric socket, but you know what- it didn’t matter. It was comfy, the hotel staff felt like family with their outward warmth and generous nature and the food was VERY good. Will be back for sure and very soon.
This hotel is spot on. The room beautiful the food great and the staff lovely. But today they have been taken over and the bar is now closed no.soft drinks or alcoholic drinks. So you cannot have a glass of wine with your dinner. This means i.will not be returning such a shame. I don't know who's idea it wa but it is not a good one. Anne walker
Really nice surprise. Enjoy the stay in a building with "character". Friendly and kind service that contributes to a relaxed atmosphere. Possibility to have breakfast/lunch/dinner with vegetarian options, even if not mentioned on menù. 10 min. walks and you are on the canal with a 5 Rise Locks (to see!!).
Oakwood Hall is a beautiful old building in the small market town of Bingley.
Today we attended a birthday gathering with a buffet.
The hard working staff were attentive and friendly.
We didn't stay in the rooms as we live locally so I cannot comment on them.
I would recommend the hotel for anyone visiting the area and we shall be returning in the future for a meal in the dining room.
