Review The Sycamore Inn - Birch Vale

What an awesome pub! Fab location, good car park with plenty of space to park the camper, wonderful staff made us feel so welcome. We loved the outside terrace with such a beautiful view, great ales, lovely homecooked food and excellent vegan menu! Nice to see home cooked options rather than fake meats. We enjoyed our food so much that we had to stay an extra day just to have lunch here before travelling home. We'll definitely be back for more!

I stayed at the Sycamore Inn early June 2023. It is absolutely delightful. The hosts Sammy and Daz were so welcoming and friendly, as were all the staff. I stayed in room 5, beautiful view out of the windows. The room was done to a high standard, I’m sure the linen on the bed is Egyptian cotton, and pillows and bedding so comfortable, the bed slightly firmer than my one at home, however I slept for 12 hours one of the nights of my stay😁 so no complaints from me! The room was spotless, the tea and coffee was very good quality. The shower was good and so easy to get to a good temperature, good towels and more available on request(though there was enough with what was provided). There is a folder with information on the dresser and loads of storage for clothes. The grounds were lovely and a couple of mornings I sat down in the bottom garden/field area which is by the very good sized car park. Birds singing fresh air ! The food in the pub is delicious, the head chef Nick was more than happy to adapt meals to my tastes, (I miss the chunky chips and fish cakes). There are several areas in and around the pub to sit and relax, really was a lovely welcoming place to be. At present the pub itself is not open on a Monday and Tuesday, I noticed Very welcoming and I would recommend.

Visiting from the USA, Birch Vale was my place of birth. Staying here brings back so many memories. The Sycamore is a gem of a place. Lovely rooms and exceptional food. All the staff treat you like family, and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend this place high enough. Whether you are looking for a quiet, charming BnB, a nice meal or snack, or just a delightful place to have a pint with friends, this is your place. Simply wonderful!!

Very nice meal here. I had the chicken burger and creme brulee and an Irish coffee. Staff were very friendly. We chose this restaurant because of their very good gluten free and veggie options

What a great find!! Don't know where to start!! Stayed here for 2 nights, Thursday 12th- Saturday 14th. On arrival we were greeted by Latisha who made us feel very welcome and shown us to our room. We stayed in room 1 and i was very impressed with the Egyptian cotton bedding and decor. Bathroom was a good size and shower was great. My dog stayed with us and there was a box specialised for the dog which I thought was a nice touch. Things kept getting better when we got to the bar and restaurant, they had Leffe on tap and the food was great had pulled pork tortillas and topside beef rolls and chips. Following morning we had the cooked breakfast which was amazing better than the cafe down the road which we had the previous morning. To finish off all the staff were professional and attentive. Sammy and Darren were great hosts. I would gladly come and stay again in the near future.

Didn't stay here for a place to stay, but stopped in for food after a long day out. The service from the staff was excellent. The food was great, the burger in my wife's words "that was bloody brilliant", we both had dessert and it they were both wonderful as well.

Lovely little hotel/pub/restaurant. We dropped in for a family meal and were very well looked after by everyone there. The food is well made, and good value. There's a good range of options.
