What a find! We had the best Sunday roast, I enjoyed every bite and it was all presented beautifully. Great drinks selection, again presented well (loved the glasses). Can't wait to return with more friends or family.

Went on Super Saturday for a couple of pints and a dose of normality and left with big smiles and happy hearts! The pub has taken the covid restrictions very seriously and was a safe and extremely welcoming place to enjoy a pint. We were pleased with the nibbles we tried but the menu food looks and smells great. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We’ll be back.

Food was amazing. Service was good but food takes time because it's always full and the food is made from scratch. For summer day it's a perfect place for brunch/lunch.

Two of us chanced it at random on a Friday night looking for some decent [independent] pub grub in a nice atmosphere. Nailed it. Fairly limited menu but definitely worth trying the "~of the day" options. Had the fish and it was delicious, all fresh looking with decent portions. Brownie was good too. The staff were helpful and friendly, was a nice atmosphere and there was even a log fire.

What a lovely pub, inside and out, its stunning, so cute! Food was delicious too. Staff we were friendly and attentive. They did forget our starter but they were busy and management were quick to rectify this by offering free dessert. I would advise to not sit near the fire when it's lit though, the smoke can play havoc with your eyes. Would visit again if in the area.

Very nice little pub. Super friendly staff who accommodated our booking with very short notice including babies. Great choice of food, including quality vegetarian options and kids menus. No request was too much bother for the staff that responded to everything with a smile. A few fish bones in the fish and chips which wasn't great but other than that good food and nice portions.

Absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly, very attentive and warm. Beautiful location and facilities. Great menu. Order the truffle fries and a pint of meantime!

It's more of a restaurant now, although bit has a bar that serve good beer, and you cannot in and drink. Nice space outside that is more pub-like. Friendly staff. Had a home made scotch egg (in the picture) not long out of the oven last time I was there, and it was close to one of the best I've ever had.

Lovely place with a warm welcome and a delicious New Year's Eve three course meal at a very reasonable price. Would definitely visit again.

Great pub and incredibly accommodating. We came to spend the weekend from Hastings and arrived on Friday very late. While this was not the first pub we contacted to try to get a table, they were the only ones that were kind enough to keep the kitchen open until our arrival. On the Friday (our first visit) we were greeted by the wonderful bar staff. Friendly is an understatement, they are amazing!! They brought us immediately some water to drink and were very happy to talk about the specials. They even brought my dog a jar full of biscuits (this is when they won over my heart). We loved it so much that we decided to go back the next day. We had a great server, Amy, who was so nice and treated us like royalty!! Food was insanely good and the Chimichurri sauce was spot on!! Overall, one of the best Pubs I ever been. Highlights? Definitely the staff and how accommodating and lovely they all are!!

Really beautiful setting, so relaxing and welcoming. Great real log fire, giving much needed warmth today. Very clean and well maintained. Lovely friendly staff member. Food was delicious, hot, fresh and well presented. Are able to cater for a wide range of dietary requirements and have good knowledge of the menu. Extensive drinks menu at fair prices. Dog friendly which is why we chose to dine here. Would definitely recommend to others with or without fury friends. Sorry no photos this time. Was too hungry and looked amazing so tucked straight in!! Thanks for accommodating us! Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Visited this pub mid afternoon enroute to Cornwall. What an amazing find. Lovely setting and quaint pub. The food was delicious, probably the best burger I've ever had! The waitress was lovely and attentive. If we're ever in the area again would definitely go back.

Lovely countryside pub with reasonably priced food. The atmosphere won't disappoint you. The taste of the food was good but my expectations were higher and hence 4 stars.

Lovely rustic pub with extra space in a marquee (which is well heated in cooler weather!), with super friendly staff. We went on a Sunday for roast and the portion sizes are very large, but unfortunately the roasts (we had the chicken and vegetarian options) were rather unimpressive in terms of flavour and texture. We'd certainly pop back in for a pint, if we're in the area, but probably won't be back for food.

Great food at really good prices, and the staff are amazing. We stumbled across this place on a Sunday and the poor chef was still happy to cook for us despite having sorted a load of roasts earlier that day. Burger was fantastic and very much look forward to returning again to try the roast soon!

We celebrated a family birthday here yesterday lunchtime. I must say, the food was absolutely superb! The roast pork I had literally fell apart �. The portions were incredibly generous, so much so that I think we all fell into a food coma when we got home! Would definitely recommend �����

This is my local... the food is great and the beer is good... if you're a townie then you may miss the point but a decent country pub...

I just popped in for a quick drink recently and was greeted by a young lady (Anna) ?? She was very engaging and interesting. Doing pshycology I think. She looked after my friend and I and was just great behind the bar. Love the FA. X

Having passed by this pub on numerous occasions, my partner and I stopped by last Saturday lunchtime after a good canal walk with 3 wet dogs. We were made so very welcome and told that even wet dogs were allowed in! After all a wet mop was readily available. We chose to sit out in their copious garden. Thanks for the brilliant hospitality, friendly cheerful staff with excellent food. Will be back!!
