Popped in for a quick pint and ended up staying for bingo! Jo is an amazing landlady and I had an absolute ball! Free buffet, bingo fun and cheap drinks.... Can't wait to go back! Thank you for cheering me up

Unfortunately there were no real ales on, but the Guinness was good. A real gem of a place with mosaic flooring and etched windows. A listed pub full of Victorian charm. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Had a lovely sunday roast dinner, choice of 3 meats which where beef, chicken or gammon. We had beef & chicken, roasties, mash, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot & swede, sprouts, Yorkshire pud & stuffing large portion too with a pot of gravy and we had apple pie & custard and cheesecake & cream. delivered on time with a smile by the lovely Margaret. Couldn't fault the food or service and very reasonable price, definitely recommend you try it 🙂

Perhaps one of the oldest pubs in the town as it was built in 1918. The fixtures & fittings are in keeping with the period so its a pleasant drinking environment & the staff are friendly. Beer selection is limited but if you like old period pubs then you'll love The Stalk. They also have a rather large back yard now converted into a smoking area & beer garden with a large screen tv for those of you who enjoy football. The pubs location next to tge job centre in a less attractive part of town may detur the more snobby pub officianado's but trust me on this. Its a real treat for a proper fan of old interesting pubs.

Fantastic. Tiled on the outside, mosaic floor and mahogany and cut glass interior. A very local and friendly bar over 25s. Always 4 real ales to choose from, basic menu from 12 to 2 to catch people working around Hamilton Square.
