This place has sat on the Robin Hood Island for years. Living a mile in Solihull, we approach this roundabout out pretty much every day and see it in our sites as we head down Solihull Rd. Yet all this time it never appealed to us and never visited. Mainly because from the outside it looks dull and boring and secondly it's sat on an island, so it seems awkward to access. Anyway, we were really impressed. I was supposed to be my wife and I, but my mum decided to join. You know how fussy Indian mum's are with food...and whilst she didn't enjoy everything we ordered she was pleasantly surprised and liked most. We really enjoyed the food. Especially the south Indian specialities such as plain Dosa, uttapam, Mysore Dosa, and masala Dosa. We did a tapas type of meal, with garlic prawns, gobi Manchurian, and paneer tikka. 7 starters! We ordered a dum chicken biryani which was authentically served. We go lt a complimentary kulfi which was extra thick and creamy. Very different. The waiter explained it's home made. Oh and the meat was halal. They also serve a wide range of spirits and beers. Nothing on tap, all bottles. It was very reasonable and had a 10% service charged already added, but we didn't mind paying that as the service was very good. Overall a very good experience. Very busy and the service was excellent. So it had to be 5 stars.

A really well presented restaurant with a warm inviting decor. We found the staff to be super friendly and attentive. The food was also quick to arrive and everything was freshly prepared. Along with a handful of delicious starters, we went for the mixed grill which arrived at our table sizzling on a bed of sliced onions - amazing! The specialty curry dishes were also really good. I hope this high standard of service remains consistent, we'll be back again soon 👌

Excellent food and service, I use them regularly for takeaways, plus have dined in with friends and family on multiple visits. My team at work also wanted a group meal one evening (~20 people) which they accommodated really well and which they gave glowing feedback on, hence this review! (Also the large range of vegetarian options helped accommodate the group’s dining preferences, plus the specials for my colleagues who were actually visiting from that region in India!)

Fantastic place with great Ambience. The food was amazing and unique to South India. The waiters were excellent. They made sure we did not need anything extra. They also accommodated for our 7 year old daughter. Ali has been excellent and very polite. It was my husband's birthday and they surprised him with a birthday kulfi! We would definitely recommend this place!

Staff were really nice and attentive. Service was speedy and food was good (if a tiny bit pricey compared to some places). Would go again, was nice a spacious inside,so you didn't feel like you were sitting with another table like you can in some restaurants!

Excellent Restaurant with great food and a very warm welcome :) After a long time , we got to taste truly sumptuous Indian food :) we tried this place for the first time and we were amazed by the flavor's. The amount of good feedback Alleppey Boat gets itself speaks its volumes. The Lamb chops, Gilafi Seekh Kebab, Chicken Tikka and Chicken Lollipop were excellent as a starter. Vartharchu Kozi Curry and Pepper Chicken Chettinad were supreme with Naan and Rice. Kids enjoyed Dosa so much that they ended up eating 2 each :).Mouth watering Kulfi as an dessert was icing on the cake !..Owners and staff were friendly and service was top class. Thanks to Hemant, Savio and Uncle for the warm welcome and making us feel at home. Overall it was a pleasant ambience with a wonderful meal. It is Highly recommended and we will definitely keep visiting whenever we are in Birmingham.

Absaloute gem of a place. The dosas are 10/10 The uttapam is one hell of a starter. Second time here today, tried both fish curries! Both were fantastic. The salmon was flakey and substantial! I appreciate simple ingredients and powerful flavour. I appreciate this place. Note - 30% most days in September!

We ordered a takeaway meal for three, received a phone call back after 20 minutes saying they were running a bit behind with a lot of orders so may not hit the delivery time stated by just a few minutes. Told them "no bother, thanks for the call," then they arrived almost bang on the original time with extras to our order, at no cost, and a really nice delivery driver. We've been to the restaurant several times because the food is really good, but now we can also recommend the takeaway service.

One of the best places to eat Indian food in the UK! I think for anyone missing traditional Indian food and if you’re in or even around Birmingham- you have to visit! Savio & Hemant are such wonderful hosts and they both definitely put customers first. Thank you for cooking such great food mixed with some good humour, your hospitality throughout the weekend and we will definitely visit again soon.

Such a friendly place to visit and a menu offering something a bit different from the majority of Kashmiri and Punjabi restaurants. Predominantly offers dishes from the south of India including dosas but also has many 'classic' dishes from northern India. The owner is very friendly and will happily explain how dishes are prepared. We were very happy with all our choices. For starters we had fish pakora, aloo bonda, seekh kebab and lamb chops. My family always use the chops as a litmus test for the quality of food and chef's talents. These didn't disappoint. Portions were good although the kebab starter is 3 pieces so pretty generous. Our mains were Alleppey Fish Curry, Chicken Chettinad, Dum Ka Murgh, Chicken Saag and Chicken Biryani. All were excellent and well flavoured. As part of their Halloween promotion, we were also given discounts on future meals (the 'trick' option) and free deserts (the 'treat' option). Highly recommended and we will be back!

Whoever visits Birmingham , please do try. First of all 1) very clean and cozy place, not crowded.2) very efficient and smart staff especially Savio( excuse if spelled wrong) and the person who served us the food ,who provided an extraordinary service that stands out.3) The main invisible person who has got amazing skills if exciting our taste buds. Must try the dosas and medu vadA. Being a South Indian , it reminded me of home. Absolutely must try, the other amazing tries are the chicken lollipops with the sauce , omg their gulab jamun with ice cream.
