Called in here with my wife for the first time before going to the Hippodrome. I’d read the reviews and all was good. We’ll it lived up to its reputation. The service was A1 as was the food. Had a great pint of Guinness too. We sat close to the entrance /bar on high tables which was cosy but there
We visited this pub while visiting Birmingham from Canada in late May. It is a proper pub with a fantastic history, decor and atmosphere. We visited twice, first during a very busy Thursday evening and again, on a quiet evening the following week. Both visits provided us with differing but equall
First time visiting a Nicholson's Pub and so glad it was this one. Paid a visit to this very well kept, neat and characterful Edwardian era pub, after reading reviews on it. Really enjoyed the period architecture, fittings and historical theme remembering veterans of the First World War ( hence its name ); all tastefully and sympathetically done, with a relaxed, c
Love this pub!!! Rates "almost" as highly as joint stock... Great atmosphere great beers, good choice of Gins and Whiskeys... It's what I call a proper pub... been there for years... Handily located by Snow Hill railway station.. 👍👌🍺🍺
Excellent pub! Food was great but a bit salty. Nice selection of beers.
We visited this pub on several occasions last week. Great place with a fantastic atmosphere. A proper old fashioned feel, good selection of beers and ciders with a decent menu. Definitely recommend a visit.
It’s a lovely pub to visit for catch ups inside or outside, there’s good parking available near to the pub also. Great selection of drinks & food also, friendly staff too. I would like to add that the drink prices are abit heavy & would like to see a happy hour introduced at some point..
We have eaten at The Old Contemptibles a few times. Old traditional English Pub with warm and friendly atmosphere, interesting historical artefacts about English history, fabulous decor. The atmosphere is cozy with dimmed lights and candles, dark wood and large heavy curtains . Good assortment of ale
Great atmosphere, fun pub , not pretentious but amazing architecture. Guinness is very well kept! Well looked after with pretty hanging baskets and plenty of outdoor seating
