First time visit to the Garden House this afternoon around 2pm and just had a pint of Birra Moretti while passing by.
Found this to be a very warm welcoming place, the background music was just right, lighting not too bright / not too dark and temperature perfect. A calm chilled atmosphere!
Seems to be a popular pub / restaurant amongst the older people, but also the younger ones too to have a meal - which noticed orders happily taken from the table to save waiting at the bar. There were a lot of people who looked like were enjoying their meals - all of which looked very tasty!
Outside there is a good amount of parking, along with bus stops on both sides of the road in and out of central Birmingham so very well located.
Staff - The guy who served me was very helpful, came straight over to the bar when came up, and helped me with using my voucher code towards the drink with no problems at all. Done with a smile and a friendly chat which was much appreciated :)
I have only one point to note on improvement, the toilets were clean. But, were quite dark and did not smell as fresh as could be. I'd suggest maybe the air freshener has run out and there being an issue with the some of the lights not being on that could be looked at.
There is a good amount of promotional display to raise funds for the Macmillan Cancer Support around the bar - this is a great cause to note and hope you raise lots for the cause.
Conclusion: I'd happily return again, and probably for an evening meal too. Thank you for the nice visit.
A lovely pub. It has a sizeable garden at the back with seating and extra free parking.
I had the seafood dish with salmon, prawns, potatoes and veg which was delicious and filling.
The toilets are at the back of the pub, and we're clean.
The staff were friendly.
I would recommend this place.
I've never been to the Garden House before, so I wasn't quite sure where to park. There is a road at the side of the pub that leads to back, so don't worry about parking. There's plenty of space available.
Food was tasty, just a little mix-up on my mushrooms, but they quickly fixed the issue! Thank you 😊
We booked the Garden Room to celebrate my 60th birthday (27/10/23). The attention from the staff was just right and the buffet was declared by most of my guests as “ the best buffet they had had”. I agree that the food was of exceptional quality and looked and tasted fantastic. We chose our options from a varied buffet menu and certainly was not disappointed. (One of my party is gluten free and this was no obstruction to them, sandwiches were provided separately and items on the buffet identified)
I would highly recommend the Garden Room at the Garden House for your event.
I visited for two family members birthdays, it was easy to find, free parking an a lovely atmosphere inside. The host was friendly an helpful, we did not have to wait long for our food. We all enjoyed ourselves. I have recommended this place for a colleagues leaving meal so i will be back again in a few weeks! Definitely recommend a visit.
First visit to this pub/restaurant & it definitely exceeded our expectations! Plenty of spacious parking & very easy to find off The Hagley Road. We were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival. Theresa was our server for the afternoon, very friendly & attentive, offered lots of options for food & drinks & made recommendations which was nice. Our glasses were never empty & the food courses came out in perfect timing. Compliments to the chef also as all of our meals were fabulous & the desserts too! Theresa looked after our party of six very well & made our get together very relaxed & enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for her even though we had a few special requests. The Garden House itself it a beautiful setting, spotlessly clean, modern & cosy. One of the best Chef & Brewer Collection pub/restaurants that I have visited & we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon & exceptional service!
Good food, lovely staff, great service
Fantastic place, great food and great service.
Originally we had booked in for a late Sunday lunch, but had a call a couple of hours before to say that they had a busy lunch period and had run out. At first we were disappointed, but fair play for letting us know. We decided to go anyway and choose off the main menu, and I'm so glad we did. Our meals were absolutely delicious, service was excellent (fast and attentive), and they catered really well for our 15 month old. It's a really nice setting and can't recommend the place enough.
We arrived and it was very cold but I loved it but my mom not so much so they turned it down. Starters of mushroom, not enough liquid and just a dollop on top but my sister enjoyed the squid. Beef and ale pie with chips was gorgeous and my sister loved the big piece of fish with chips. Mom had the bakewell tart with custard and loved it especially as it came with 2 candles for her birthday! Theresa our server was very attentive and friendly and always smiling.
Booked a Family meal for 9. From arriving to leaving, an excellent customer experience. The process was very well organised and several different main courses ordered. All dishes served at the same time so one one waiting. Everyone enjoyed their main course. We all ordered a pudding and again came out in a timely manner and once again all enjoyed. Served by Lindsey, who is a credit to the venue. Very polite and thorough and checked with us several times if everything was alright and if we needed anything more. As regular customers you can always guarantee a good offering at The Garden House.
