First time visiting, tried this place after a friend recommended. Food was nice, well flavoured, Feel for what you pay, the portions could be bigger. Food was overall flavourful and tasty, but not WOW. Service was good, however felt staff had to manage multiple tables so would get confused at times, for example I asked for chilli sauce and got a fork? But things like this sometimes happens. Good vibes and feels. I would recommend visiting and trying at least once.
First time here and can't say I was even slightly disappointed.
First thing I noticed was the decor, different and inviting and the aromas that hit you on arrival make the welcome even better.
The service was quick and efficient in the spacious seating area. I'm pleased that this isn't the type of establishment that crams lots of tables and chairs in.
I had a chicken shawarma wrap, which was delicious, accompanied with fresh mint and black tea.
Very reasonably priced, great service and quality food. I'll definitely be back again.
We've just enjoyed an early evening meal at Damascena, beautifully presented flavoursome dishes. Fabulous service from Kazhi who was very attentive and clearly loves working at Damascena.
I love the food but the experience of cleanliness befalls me I have OCD issues and this is what I seen. Also like my coffee hot but was served warm
Amazing café! This place really has its own unique vibe and is well worth seeking out. You're greeted by friendly staff and a wealth of baked goods and baklava on the front counter. Towards the back, there is a good sized seating area and outdoor dining area. The menu is traditional Middle Eastern dishes, and a decent amount of it can be made gluten-free and/or vegan. The service was fairly quick (Sunday afternoon) and the staff were very helpful. The food and drinks were fantastic and fairly priced. There's also good facilities for disabled customers and baby changing. All in all, a great experience. Can't wait to go back!
The service was really slow and we had to wait for 20 mins to just get our orders taken. Not the staff's fault though, they seemed to be understaffed the day we visited. Great coffee and vibe overall!
When I entered the restaurant I was pleasantly surprised by the ambience. The restaurant was neat, people are very polite and it was bustling. I had to wait for 5-10mins as suggested by the usher. The ambience portrays a middle East feel. Now coming to the dishes, all the dishes were of excellent taste and quality which you can see from the pictures I have posted. Its definitely a value for money. The service was as well very good. Overall I had a very good experience... Hopefully they continue to maintain it...
My son and I visited this restaurant for the first time this week and were very impressed with the selection of food available. My son is gluten intolerant so we chose to come here for that particular reason. It was lunch time and the place was lively but relaxed. We had to ask to see a menu as we couldn't see one anywhere but when we looked there was a wide range to choose from. Everything was clearly marked as vegan or gluten-free and there was a detailed list of allergens at the back of the menu. The waitress who served us asked if we had any dietary requirements when we ordered and our table marker was then labelled accordingly to ensure there were no mix-ups.
This place is fast becoming my favourite coffee stop! Great coffee (Strong black Arabian!!!) fantastic Chicken Shawarma Arabiya, and lovely staff! check it out, i'm sure you wont be disappointed.
The service was great. The food was amazing and the presentation was even better. What I really liked was that even though we stayed for almost 4 hrs, the staff there did not make us feel like we have overstayed (as most restaurants do). I will definitely go again.
Things to try: classic hummus, lamb shawarma, halloumi platter and the frappe was delicious!!!
