Went there for a lunch on Friday with my daughter for her birthday meal. We were greeted by lovely friendly lady waiter and straight away were seated at nice table by the window. We ordered strawberry and lime cider for a drink which was absolutely delicious and my daughter had a soft drink. We have 2 types of chicken as a main and courgette fries and greens and new season potatoes as a side dish . All was fresh, chicken was so tender and food was brought within a very little waiting time. As always it was very nice experience and we will be returning for a meal next time when we visit Brum.
29.10.23. Another visit and another great meal. Pan fried sea bream was so delicious and so big portion- I had to take half of it home for my mum to try. We also had pasta with chicken- very tasty and roasted potatoes, house salad and of course fried courgette. Services was kind and professional. Very happy customers.

Have been here several times over several years and the food never disappoints. Service is always friendly, kind and accommodating. Seafood is always fresh and deliciously prepared. Highly recommended for a special occasion or an delightful time out, lunch or dinner.

Good food variety, the menu contains a variety of foods, from steaks, pasta to fish, and pizza.
The portions are quite small for the price that you pay, and probably because it is Brindley Place, all the prices are pumped out.
The chicken was good, but on the dry side, so I couldn't eat it all. The new potatoes taste good, but I asked them with fresh parsley, and I received them with a cooled basil mix.
There is no parking around the restaurant. However, there is a Q Park a few steps away.
The staff was very friendly and professional.
The restaurant design is ok ish, slightly aged and very dark inside.

Came across this place shortly after arriving in Birmingham for the first time.
The food was outstanding and the service was brilliant. We were served by Raf and he is a credit to the business.
Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be back the next time we visit.

Lovelly little place set behind brindley place. Food was lovely with a great atmosphere. So many Italian restaurants seem to be failing in brum so I hope this one stays open. As all restaurants now a bit pricey. It’s the sort of place u go on a special occasion. Will be going bank to try other food on the menu.

Have a birthday party at Piccolino on Saturday night. Very busy but the service very good. Foods were delicious, especially lobsters are fresh and nice.

The mushroom ravioli and chocolate lava cake are nice. I preferred the pasta to be softer and chocolate mint ice cream the waiter was helpful to note down my request. He introduced me the lemon liquor that is what typical Italian would take at the end of the course for digestion. I learned something new and enjoyed the meal :) I would recommend piccolini. Nice food, service and ambience.

Thank you for such lovely service Joanna & Astrida, and other attentive staff that helped choose and serve nice Gavi. Great pre-Elton vibe in this Italian, super rendition of fragrant Italian standards. Will come back.

Piccolino served us really tasty food. The setting is more relaxed than formal, still enjoyable and feels sophisticated. Would dine here again!

Came her with work colleagues, and they managed to fit our large group in without a reservation. Friendly service and good food. Larger than expected portion sizes for this type of restaurant.

My boyfriend has taken me out to the restaurant for my 21st birthday. I’ve had the most amazing experience, I have been served by Joanna Antonio which was the greatest server ever, she even offered to take some photos of us so we could go back to this lovely moment. I loved every minute spent and the restaurant. The food was really tasty, and the staff was really nice.
Edit:
Came back to the restaurant again, it was amazing as before.

Food is excellent, real quality ingredients and varied Menu 👍
Service is good, although we had a few meals turn up late (but there were 12 of us 😉).
It is a little bit pricier, but well worth it 😎

Lovely food! Service was great also, every course was brilliant. Extensive wine list to choose from and the overall dining experience was fabulous. Just a side note if you don’t take to very rich desserts I’d go for the pavlova instead of the chocolate dishes.

Great restaurant, extensive menu. Drinks started at an expensive price point, Inc soft drinks which limited how many we chose to have. Food was delicious. Service was slow and took 15 mins to get someone's attention for the bill at the end of our meal, hence reason for low score. Would be perfection with some drinks at a lower price point and more attentive service.

My friend booked a table a month in advance for 16 people for her 18th Birthday, we paid our deposit and were expecting great service from the reviews we'd seen online, however this was not the case!

We arrived early and waited 35 minutes to be seated and were completely ignored by the most obnoxious, abrupt, obscene waiters I have ever come into contact with. They refused to serve us from the main menu which wasted about 20 extra minuets of our time, even though we were told a month ago that this WOULDNT be a problem... After they finally agreed to serve us from the main menu they said it would be a 35 minute wait, which we understood, however we ended up waiting over an HOUR! After the 35 mins had passed, we politely enquired about an estimate of when our food would be ready and were abruptly dismissed with "5 minutes" which turned into about 15/20...

When our food arrived there was a multitude of problems, under cooked pasta, oily food, cold food, stale food etc. And in total we waited 2hrs 20 mins from the time we arrived for that! I thought I couldn't get any worse, but when I was served he threw my plate down and gave me an awful look after I had spoken to him so politely. Also, one of my friends who sent her food back didn't get her food until 10 mins before closing...

We also noticed that the only other table having a similar problem were a big group of colour (similar to our table). I will not be coming back! I'm glad that their other restaurant (Bank) offer much better service!

I have to say I did enjoy my glass of prosecco...

Don't come here for a birthday or any medium guest listed celebration of the sort because you may suffer being ignored, bad food (which is making me feel sick as I am writing this) and an awful manager! As you might have guessed we're not going to be back!

Mistake after Mistake. UPDATE 31-May-12
Since writing the review below, the company that owns this restaurant (the Individual Restaurant Company) have been in touch and assured me that the experiences above are a one-off and not indicative of normal customer service. I am satisfied they have taken the appropriate action and do take customer service very seriously. They are willing to listen to and engage professionally with customers. Although I am reluctant to return to this restaurant (once bitten twice shy) I am happy to go to others they manage (Bank, Zinc, The Restaurant Bar & Grill)
-------------------------------

The service we received was totally unsatisfactory further compounded by mistake after mistake:
- The wine waiter brought the wine to our table and poured a glass for everyone, except for me. I had to ask for him to fill my glass.

- After learning we were celebrating two birthdays, the same waiter offered us complimentary tomato and a mozzeralla pizza bread. We were grateful for the kind and generous offer. Two metal plate holders were placed on our table in anticipation of holding the pizza bread. These took up much of the space on our small table. Our starters arrived but the pizza bread did not. We finished our starters; the pizza bread had still not arrived. While the waiter was clearing our starter plates I asked where the pizza bread so kindly offered to us was. He went to check and a few minutes later it arrived with an explanation that the chef had burnt the first portion and had to remake them. Frankly, an unbelievable excuse. The pizza bread was delicious and we appreciated the gesture.

- After finishing the pizza bread, we waited for our main course to arrive. After waiting one and quarter hours (thankfully the Prosecco and conversation were excellent), a waiter arrived at our table and started to clear our side plates. He asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We politely told him that we had not yet had our main meal. He went away to check. A front of house lady came to our table to apologise, she gave no excuse or explanation, but did kindly offer to buy us a complimentary drink. As we had just started another bottle of Prosecco we declined the offer. Our food arrived fairly swiftly after.

- I had ordered the Nodino di vitello, simply grilled with simply grilled with rosemary & lemon butter. What arrived was the Milanese in a parmesan & rosemary breadcrumbs. I did not say anything to the waiter as everyone else at our table had their correct order; at this point I would have lost my temper but did not want to spoil the evening further.

- After the main meal we ordered desserts, which thankfully, arrived without any issues.

- We then ordered two coffees. From my seat I could see our coffees were brewed and waiting on the bar near the coffee machine. We waited and waited for them to be brought to our table. After at least 15-20minutes of waiting I walked up to the lady at the front of house and asked where our coffees were. She asked our waiter, he said they were ready and he would bring them over immediately. I knew they had been sitting there for at least 15-20minutes so asked if they could make them from fresh. I returned to our table. The front of house lady came to our table to again apologise. She explained that the coffee machine had broken causing the delay to brewing our coffees. She could not explain why no-one pro-actively came to our table with a polite explanation of why it was taking so long. The front of house lady offered to refund the cost of our desserts.

- Enough was enough; we cancelled the coffees and asked for the bill. I am not proud of this, but for the first time in my life I refused to pay a service charge or leave a tip.

Came here for a Sunday roast. An absolute waste of money; over priced for hardly any food. The food tasted very very bland and tasteless. Service was very slow even though hardly any people in there.
