With so many amazing independents in Birmingham, I always feel a little bit guilty visiting chain restaurants, especially as they often disappoint (Ask Italian, I’m looking at you..). But I’m always happy to be proven wrong, so when Carluccio’s invited me along to try out their revamped menu I went along with an open mind and an empty belly.
A cosy corner for an Italian dining experience..the calamari is the safest bet which turned out a hit. Besides we ordered Linguini ai frutti de mare ( a fusion of prawns, mussels and squids), lobster speghatti and penne giardiniera (penne with spinach balls drizzled with heaps of parmesan cheese) which was entirely veg and surprisingly super yum..the overall ambience was nice and romantically pleasing with warm white lights..a visit on a Sunday was much better as compared to Fridays n Saturdays..the service was more than expected.. The whole course was well suggested and explained as per our preferences..Above all a place worth revisiting.
The BEST Italian chain restaurant in the UK. Service is always incredible. Food is always delicious - must try Venison ravioli with a nice red. Calamari is great and food in general is great and affordable. Ambience is trendy and fun - Always a good time!
Great quality italian food and friendly efficient staff. Great location, perfect for a meal before a night out at a club or concert or play at Symphony Hall or Birmingham Rep. Includes a lovely shop of Italian delicacies to take home.
Went to Carluccio's for lunch during the week. It was really quiet.
We chose spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti ragu with a side salad.
The food was Okay and the service was good.
Great, fast service. Even asked if anyone in party had allergies, now thats a first for us in a restaurant. Food selection great and tasty, very clean here, well worth a visit or three?
Came here for lunch on Saturday. Lovely atmosphere and the waiting staff were friendly. The food was good - not amazing - but good enough. We ordered off the lunch set menu which is 13.99 for 3 courses. Overall quite happy. The only let down was the dessert, bread and butter pudding with vanilla ice cream tasted like it had been microwaved. Ice cream was full of crystals and served out a huge tub - more like Wall's than Carluccio's!
Love Italian food and Carluccios ticks all the boxes for us. Varied menu and great service staff. Been lots of times previously and will definitely be going back.
Food was yummy! I always quite like the food at Carluccios. Some staff were really nice others didn't want to be there. Price was quite a lot really £16!!
Caprese surprisingly tasty, mentioned to the server, were informed the chef uses up the foods within the day or throw, made sense totally. Chicken Milanese was perfectly cooked, sided by baby leaf salad was also the best. Trust me good food here.
The best Carluccios that I have been to. Really friendly and very welcoming. Amazing breakfasts. Great cappuccinos. Very good value. Top location.
Food was very nice, but small portions. The staff were lovely.
Great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
