Very nice food and excellent service. Cod and scampi are very fresh and the chips are chunky and fluffy. Mediterranean chicken is a bit too minty but the doner is on point. Very nice seating area next to the main kitchen but also upstairs if you want more of a restaurant feel. Once you are seated a server comes to take your order and food is with you in good time. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Absolutely sensational food, only critique would be that I could have definitely eaten a few more chips. Service is faultless and the reputation as the best in Brum is a completely fair one.

Good fish and chips! Very nice people around who told us about places worth visiting!

Delish fish and chips. Fried in vegetable oil and separate from all meats. New extension restaurant to the established fish and chip shop is a delight too.
UPDATE: 4 years on the fish is still exceptionally good. The Cod was amazing. Only word of warning i'd give... they have recently stopped accepting American Express cards so take a Visa or Mastercard!

My cultural culinary roots are very much tied to the Fish and Chips takeaway. As simplistic as the experience can be, it can also, given the correct venue, offer an experience that pull on the heart strings. A fish and chip shop like Dad’s Lane Fish Bar took my expectations to a new level. First of all, it has a restaurant, which is themed to match its dishes. The service is friendly, warm and chatty with its Greek Cypriot roots.
The owner informed me that the venue has been running for 15 years. It is obvious to see why. The food is sensational. Everything is prepared fresh. The fish is succulent. The chips have bounce and, given my lean, the peas had substance.
I don’t remember enjoying fish and chips this much for a long long time. Dad’s Lane Fish Bar is up there with the mighty Bedders, arguably Birmingham’s finest. Thank you for offering a memorable experience.

Best chippy in Birmingham. There are lots of staff so even with long queues due to the popularity of this fish and chip restaurant you always get served hot and fresh food in minutes. Batter is a secret recipe, golden and crispy. The family vibe is something that makes the place 5*. Greek Cypriot owners so they understand their produce more than all the pop up here today gone tomorrows. They've been running this place since the 1980s....

Great vibe, good portions, plus expect a queue as this place is popular as it gets. Fish and chips are outstanding. Chicken tikka less mastered, and expect parking issues though.
Staff is friendly to the roof!

I have visited the establishment a few times now and still have a few more item's to try from the menu and have yet to experience dinning in the resteraunt side rather than the take out side but i have to say that the mini fish , chips and peas and also the donner meat and chips in a tray and also the chicken meat and chip's are on the money and fairly priced. The shop on appearance looks clean and tidy and the service and staff are very welcoming and friendly all in all well worth you paying it a visit when in the area..👏👏👏..⭐⭐⭐⭐'s for now

A really surprising chip shop to be honest. There's everything you'd expect on a chip shop menu with a few nice extras, but everything we had was wonderfully cooked & tasted lovely.
Sides are really tasty too so if grab some of those too.
The staff are really friendly & warm with made for a great visit.

Had takeaway Fish and Chips and Battered sausage. Service was fast and food was great an fairly priced. Definitely a contender for top fish and chips!

Probably the best fish and chips in Brum. The chips were perfect and the curry sauce was delicious. Friendly staff and nice seating area. Recommended!

Great food, great service. Waitress apologised for how long we waited for the food (really not long at all) but it was because the haddock was so large it took a while to cook! Incredible portion size, absolutely delicious.

One of the best fish and chips places that I have ever been to.
Friendly and helpful staff, really good food and a real pleasure all round.
The food is first class and a really good service provided. Highly recommended.

This wonderful establishment is open from 4pm until 8-30pm during the Covid19 Pandemic. Obviously this chippy is practising safe social distancing for the safety of staff and customers so please RESPECT that when you go..highly recommended for the quality of their food. Thank you Dads Lane for opening, it may not seem much it lifts the spirits in these strange times

Great fish and chips. Excellent customer service. Only thing I didn't like is customers leaning over you to look at the menu on the eall

Been a customer of Dad's Lane Fish bar for 30+ years. Every time I'm back in Brum I always make sure to visit (either for a take-out or to dine it). Their fish and chips and kebabs are 2nd to none. Still owned and run by the same Greek family since day 1.

Fabulous place for fish and chips that are delicious, and with different types of fish including salmon, hake, placie and cod .

A great family run chip shop, I have been a customer here for a number of years and it’s never disappointed.
With its fresh fluffy chips and well battered cod it really is one of Birmingham’s best fish and chip shops.
What makes it better is the restaurant allowing for the choice of eat in or takeout an option that’s sadly not available everywhere.

Simply the best fish and chip shop in Birmingham. The queues on a Friday/Saturday night out the door and past the bus stop say it all. Friendly and helpful staff, fresh food and the best chips. All of the fish options are great but the kebabs are the best too. Lots of options and big portions!
