Brilliant place for coffee or brunch. The staff were super helpful and the coffee was delicious. Didn't have good but the fresh produce was on display and it looks excellent. Certainly worth popping by!
They had a selection of gluten free products too

Lovely breakfast, friendly & speedy service. Very reasonably priced. The homemade pickled shallots were a real highlight!

This is not fast food but is freshly made food. Great vegan and gluten free options. Slightly pricey but quality is what you get.

Excellent and tasty food. The spiced mulled apple drink was perfect for a cold autumn day. The roast is ok, nothing special if you drink espresso like me but probably good for any coffee drinks. The staff is super friendly and very competent. Relaxing atmosphere and good choice of music, definitely not loud and perfect to relax and chat if you're with others. Recommended and will definitely come back.

This was a great place for a Christmas meet up.
The staff were very friendly.
The bottomless brunch was tasty but it was cold when it arrived. This was quickly rectified and my coffee was free.
Would recommend this place and definitely go there again.

Nice hipster coffee shop, very convenient near the centre. Had a decent sized brunch with some nice touches - halloumi, excellent veggie sausages and bread. Service was a touch slow and not convinced by the poached egg. Overall though, decent, would go back.

Awesome place for working on your laptop. Hospitable staff and two levels to sprawl yourself over whilst enjoying a nice cup of joe and feasting on some pancakes if you’re lucky enough to be there on a Tuesday. Plenty of seating and power points available to charge your devices. There’s couches, large tables and individual tables to work from with free WiFi available. Hot latte costs 2.9 pounds and there’s a bathroom on site. They also have a bottomless brunch if you’re brave enough to participate on the weekends for 22.5 all day long! #BeatTheGrind

Lovely cafe in the centre of town that is dog friendly (dog treats available for your fur baby) and very good coffee. Although we didn't eat here, we have eaten at their other venue in the JQ and can say the food is tasty.

Had a nice brunch here with my friend. Very cosy and calm atmosphere at a chilly morning. Decaf flat white was impressively tasty had to order a second cup. Vegie breakfast was lovely as well n a BIG portion for me. Vegetarian sausage was the best I've ever had, would def come back!! If the service could be quicker it would be literally perfect :)

Went to Urban Cafe (Church Street) for their Bottomless Brunch, I use their venue in Jewellery Quarter so had a good idea of what to expect. Their breakfast was ace, it came out quicker than I expected based on the fact that the Cafe was full to capacity. We opted for the Mimosas which were promptly topped up a few times and had a great Juice to Prosecco ratio. Would definitely have their BB again, but would upgrade for the Pastries. Thank you Urban Cafe for making the start to my sisters birthday so awesome!

Found this place after a quick Google search and is wanting a spot of brunch whilst visiting Birmingham. Really efficient service and got a seat outside to make the most of the sunshine. We both thoroughly enjoyed the eggs Benedict, one with bacon and the other with mushrooms. I enjoyed an iced latte, really good, nice and strong! My fiance had a berry smoothie, also tasty. £23 for this lot so a great price for a tasty brunch and good service.

Popped in early morning and it was so nice. Not ridiculously busy and nice and quite. Drinks are well priced too, definitely go back!

Nice friendly service and delicious food. Food took a little while but it was fresh, presentable and tasty. Accept the Independent Birmingham card. Decor was cool but all the wood means it was a little noisy inside. Could do with some soft furnishings inside.
Kim
On the more pricey side of coffee shops in comparison to others in the area. Service is friendly and food is nice, but can be really difficult getting seating as the place is small, and the chairs/arrangement is quite tight. It costed just over £10 for a long black coffee and avocado toast w/halloumi.

Spend half a day there WFH 👩💻
A very good place to do so, calm and nice

Been coming to UCC whenever I'm in Birmingham since it opened. Relaxed environment, amazing coffee and great staff. Today I experienced the superb brunch offering. £15 for 2 brunch choices from the menu and 2 medium coffees. The Full English was amazing. Quality produce, cooked perfectly and tasted superb. Eggs Beni equally tasty and at a bargain price. Recommended whenever you are passing by.

Was a little down and needed a chocolate fix. The cake was nice a moist and the coffee was good. Which is rare in the UK Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere with all the students doing their homework on their laptops. The WIFI was a bit wobbly. But, that just gave me the opportunity to enjoy the view instead. I'll be back for more cake

Have always loved the Urban Coffee Emporiums - visited again today after too long. A gorgeous sunny afternoon with a delicious iced soya latte and a view of Brum's spectacular architecture. (Excellent tunes btw! ) Thanks guys, I won't be leaving it so long next time!

My absolute favorite place to catch up with friends! Love it!

Wonderful food, wonderful service and wonderful setting.

It's ok here! I do love my 'American pancakes' but urbans were a bit of a let down. Very stodgy and didn't taste fresh, just warmed through. Also ran out of maple syrup. Coffee was good tho.

Visited you for the first time yesterday, my partner and myself were very impressed! The coffee was fantastic, the ambiance of the place is wonderful! Had a sandwich each and the presentation was very creative and tasted wonderful! Well worth the money. A must visit! will be returning :)

A beautifully made Latte using a roaster in Cornwall in a laid back independent cafe

Latte

What is it?: A single shot of coffee with two-thirds milk

What does it taste like?

An independent cafe situated in the heart of Birmingham with two outlets.

The latte in question uses a good quality blend sweet earthy flavours, but smooth on the tongue, allowing the coffee to cut through the milk when poured. It is then topped with a thin layer of creamy steamed milk.

Price: £2.70

What else is on offer?: Other coffee based drinks, teas and juices are available.

Where: Urban Coffee Company, Jewellery Quarter and City Centre, Birmingham

For for more non-alcoholic drinks reviews check out my blog SoberHedonist

Brilliant cafe, good food, good coffee, and friendly service. Comfortable, and clean, a nice atmosphere to just sit, or chat. Only little qualm, was the toast was tough to cut for the Avocado Smash, however was still delicious.

My new favourite coffee shop in Brum. Liked everything about it - the coffee, food, staff and ambience were all great

Best coffee and brunch in Birmingham.

I was introduced to this refreshing coffee house yesterday. Traditionally for my coffee, I'm a Starbucks boy, Urban Coffee Company was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the commertialisation. Good coffee, bright and well lit. The perfect location to enjoy a quiet afternoon coffee.
Andrew Morrison
Coffe paradise. Best coffee in Birmingham. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. You'd be hard put to find a better espresso in Milan

Best Lattes in Birmingham. Just recently opened, the Urban Coffee Co is a breath of fresh air of church street. Its open, very light and with free WiFi available.

It also has hands down some of the best coffee in town, the lattes are superb and the Sumatran filter coffee is delicious. They have a great array of cakes took including some almond croissants and yummy muffins that had some jam right in the centre so that when cut oozes out, ace.

If you are looking for somewhere to go to meet clients or somewhere that is not a chain, please go here you will not be disappointed.

Ideal for meetings and fantastic coffee. I was warmly greeted, the space is light and airy, the WiFi strong, and they have good stout tables, big enough to get four coworkers and their laptops around (they have plenty of plug sockets upstairs too).

The coffee was great (really great - seriously, try the filter coffee which is individually filtered for you) and there was lovely banter with the staff.
The Perfect Trough
My Americano here was a bit heavy on the volume and thus not strong enough. Perhaps my fault for not ordering a long black – in the best of coffee shops, they will execute different coffees on this distinction. Get it on the board, guys.

After walking past this most days on my way to and from work, I finally decided to pop in at lunch one day.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating, happy to help you with anything!
I had a vanilla latte and a duck and hoisin wrap, both of which were miles ahead in quality by the local coffee chain shops.
The brilliant service just made the experience great enough that I was popping in more than just once in a while.
