Great pub! Decent amount of screens, good selection of bottled and draft beers. Food is nice as well. Friendly staff
Really enjoyed our family meal. My steak was cooked to perfection, as were the other meals. Friendly, polite and efficient staff made our visit very enjoyable. Thank you.
I live round the corner from this pub, so technically its my local pub. We used to use this place all the time it has a nice outdoor seating are which is small but can act as a private space for large group of friends. The have an extensive car park space and also have a huge wacky warehouse complex at the back of the pub.
They have 2 meals for £10.00 deal here. Ive never eaten here but it seems like a good deal if your after cheap pub grub. The pub itself is a spacious and has a comfy atmosphere, but the furniture is tired and worn. Majority of this place is given to dining and its very popular for food.

They have had a refurbishment recently and they have done a stellar job, inside and outside as it's newly acquired by new brewery. Great what new wallpaper and paint can do. they have also changed some of furniture. Drinks service is much better and the bar staff seems to get well with the cliente. its okay for just a drink or 10..
I love this pub i go here around once a week, its a huge pub with plenty of choices of seating.
I mainly come here cos its so cheap, they have a 2for£10 menu which is brill for me and my mates you can also upgrade for an £1.25 to an 8oz steak with all the trimmings
food has always been good and the staff are all very friendly.
Came across this lovely friendly pub, great food with a good menu, and service spot on. They have pay phone chargers on the bar, plenty of TVs to watch games, etc. I think the only neg, is from standing at one end of the bar near a till. You're asked to come over the other end to be served even just for a pint. Would definitely go back as a great selection of beers and loved the Steak & chicken fondue, spot on. I have not been to the Old House at Home before, but my visit this afternoon around 2pm was perfect in every way.
The lady who served me at the bar was very welcoming, genuinely friendly and quick to get through everyone waiting to be served. No complaints at all - top service!
Outside, there is lots of seating, with some under cover areas too. I notice a decent selection of condiments inside to allow to go and eat and drink outside.
I really do rate highly the dog water and snacks point out the front, it makes the difference between somewhere that just tolerates dogs and those who love the furry friends to come along!
Inside, the tables are all clean and cleared quickly. I then sat in the bar area, which because of the time of the day is quite quiet and peaceful. Perfect for catching up with some work!
Notable point, is the WiFi. It is very good! Quick check on Speedtest show 50.3Mbps download / 79.5 Mbps upload. Amazing when consider other pubs slow speeds. Makes for using laptop a breeze! Plug sockets dotted around the place too.
Visited the toilets during my visit, the gents were a little tricky to find - possibly a sign on the wall to point to them by the bar could be useful. They were clean, fresh and everything expect to be.
I didn't eat here during my visit, just drinks - but the food looked good. It's quite a chilled place - and found it to not be like a zoo crossed with the wild west that some family friendly places are.
Conclusion: I will certainly return, and will try the food for myself on an evening. Thank you for the perfect visit - keep it up :)
Update.... since the review.... I did stay and eat. The carvery and service was fantastic.... really is highly recommended.
Went recently to celebrate my brothers graduation, met with amazing service and a friendly smile. Donna was super helpful and and no task was too much. Will happily visit again in the near future, good pints and good food !!
Excellent yet again! Our forth visit not counting our wedding meal. All absolutely wonderful visits. Mandy can’t do enough for us and goes above and beyond every week. Food was delicious again and service was fab. We have booked for next Sunday and can’t fault anything apart from the parking. We are disabled and spaces are always full. Would advise you book to get a table as Sunday is always busy.
Visited yesterday to celebrate my mothers birthday, I was met with amazing service from both waiters and bar staff. The lads on the bar were very helpful and provided a very hospitable atmosphere. The waiter, Pasher, looked after us and made us feel extremely welcome. Food was great, especially the desserts. Looking forward to the next time we’re in the area to pop in for a pint and a bite :)
Good pub with a good selection of drinks including ales. Screens are well placed for sporting events. Good service, nice staff and decent atmosphere. Only negative I have is my car was damaged in the car park so I strongly recommend parking as close to the building as possible in the evenings.
Absolutely impressive refurbishment by current owners loved the staff friendliness and customer service was top class. They have a gaming area pool table darts and board games they thought about it all and one of the cleanest toilets I’ve been in in any pub over the years …. Menu Price perfect for all pockets ideal for family and those with smaller appetite they offer small plates and prices …. It’s a place I’ve been visiting since my children were young now I go with my friends and older children
I am very impressed with this Carvery. For a start we were welcomed with a smile and good humour by the staff from the start. Unlike a well known competitor (jug). As for the carvery, the beef was plentiful and flavoursome, the turkey very moist. The large variety of vegetables were freshly cooked and of good quality. The price was very reasonable too! We will definitely be back. Well done and thank you 😊
