Review The Bell Harborne - Birmingham

Clive Baker
Great untouched pub. I had my first pint there (illegally) 50 years ago. It's just as I remembered it. Brew11, too. Magic. The food is excellent. Bar staff caring and efficient. What more do you need?

Quaint little pub, a nice country atmosphere in the suburbs of Birmingham. I don't think I would eat here again based on todays experience of greasy processed seafood and a terrible cheese on toast passed off as mushroom bruschetta, drinks were reasonably priced.

Visited today whilst in the area visiting family (3 adults & 2 children). Easily reserved a table online in advance. Arrived and found space to park directly outside the pub. We were early but received a warm welcome & were shown to our table. Ordered food & drink at the bar and service was very quick & staff were friendly and helpful. 4 of us had the sunday roast dinners & one kids meal. Portion sizes were great and the food was delicious. Ordered desserts and again quick service & tasted amazing. We were really impressed and will definitely visit again when we're in Birmingham next.

Visited this pub recently, and have done consistently every few months, as part of our Harborne Pubs Tour. Situated next to St.Peters Church in Harborne in a very scenic, quiet area with it's own bowling green and spacious outdoor seating area. Great beer, polite and friendly service and tasty food (served in very reasonable portions!). A great place to visit especially on a summer's day.

First time here, lovely roast dinner, plate was packed with deliciousness! Friendly staff, traditional cosy vibe inside and great beer-garden overlooking the church. We’ll be back!

We had Sunday lunch for 8. The food was outstanding, as good as I've had anywhere. Would recommend you book in advance.

Came in for drinks last Friday. Matt served us and was an absolute pleasure. Service was immaculate and talked us through drink options perfectly. Will definitely stop in should I pass by again. Would 100% recommend to anyone in the area

Fantastic service , by Morgan and Morgan beautiful surroundings. Food to die for cooked by Spencer And Benji Top it off, entertained by watching a Bowls match. Not forgetting Amy who went out of her way for us Highly recommended for food and great selection of drinks Sue xx

Lovely village pub, staff are very friendly. Food is tasty and it has a really nice atmosphere. Good outdoor seating with view onto the bowling green.

Lovely cosy old traditional pub. Friendly and accommodating atmosphere. They have a pub quiz on a Sunday evening. There is very limited parking but you should be able to park on the road.

Popped in for a drink early Sunday. Full of character. Lovely staff. Didn't stop for food but what was coming out of the kitchen looked great. Still very much a village pub in the city. I think booking for food on Sunday advisable as was packed when we left. Nice outdoor space overlooking the bowling green.

Really characteristic lovely old pub tucked away near a church in Harborne. Sat outside having a girlie catch up as the weather was glorious. Plenty of outdoor seating arranged around what looked like a bowling green. Salads were amazing and the ice cold Peroni's too. Although the pub filled up (it was a Friday afternoon/early evening) we were able to keep our table for 4 hours, well we do like to chat haha. Cheerful, quick and excellent service, you carry your own drinks from the bar which I feel is much more efficient, well done 👏

Lovely traditional pub full of character. Food is amazing...I can particularly recommend the Sunday roasts. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Love the 'mini pud' option on the menu too. Definitely worth a visit! X

Lovely local, but the drink queue takes too long!! Held up by food orders.....can thought be put in to use another bar just for food orders ? Appreciate it’s a small pub and that’s what makes it so nice. New staff consistently didn’t take away our empties.

Sunday lunch was absolute delicious and arrived piping hot. Lovely service too. Given that the pub is very small, staff do a fantastic job of managing Sunday service in such a small space. My mom really enjoyed the salted caramel bar too. Will definately be returning.

A brilliant old time pub, great food, excellent service and no juke box bashing your ears just the gentle sound of people chit chatting away. The beer was really nice and went down very easily, please please do not try to modernise (to so called improve the place) keep it as it is a real pub

Ordered our food was with us within 5 minutes, there was 4 of us and we couldn't believe how quick it took to cook the food and 1 of them was a lasagne, I actually thought they had got my meal wrong as I thought the lasagne was cottage pie, it looked like mash potato on top and was sitting in gravy. Really like this place but would never eat there again

This was our first visit, we were greeted warmly and despite not having booked a table we were seated quickly in the cosy snug. We all opted for a Sunday roast and the food was outstanding. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout and we left planning our next visit. We can't wait to return.
