The food is fine, the fish and chips are a respectable quality. The prices have increased and they even charge for having a bit of sauce added. They didn't previously. The food isn't cheap so feels a little cheeky to ask for 20/30p for a squirt. There is no option to eat in as no seating available
Best fish and chips in Birmingham. Never had a bad meal from here. Highly recommended π

A busy 'place' (pardon the pun) with queue of customers, which usually means good food. I wasn't disappointed. Had the small fish and chips with peas. Both fish and chips was fresh π

Very good fish and chips. The place (or The Plaice) appears very clean, and everything is reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and the service is good. I had cod and my wife had haddock, and everything was piping hot and not greasy, and not a soggy chip in sight.
I think I've found my new favourite chippy!

We get fish and chips here regularly. The chips are great and fish is always a decent size, but always, always overcooked leaving it dry. Take the fish out the fryer sooner... I beg you π
Hands down best chip shop in the area. Have used them for years. Food is always spot on! Amazing fish especially. The staff are lovely and friendly and always take the time to have a chat with you. Whenever ive been anywhere else I've always been disappointed as I compare it to the plaice. Never had a bad meal here!

Wow! The freshest fish and chips I've had in a very long time. I was actually gobsmacked. The place is clean, the staff are nice and the fish was delicious. We went to another chippy near Shirley station and it was awful, so was sceptical about going to this one. But I've now found my go to chippy for the last Friday nights!
We had lost faith in fish and chip shops , because 9 times out of ten, the fish was awful!! That is until tonight! Our cod, chips and curry sauce from The Plaice was delicious. The best we've eaten in years!
Great local fish shop. We've been using this chippie regularly for years and it never disappoints. Fish is always fresh.

Great fish and chip place. The best for miles around. Very well priced with a wide selection including all the extras you'd want like kebabs, sausages, burgers, etc. Well worth a visit.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming, food has always been spot on, had the halloumi burger this time around to try something different and was pleasantly surprised, tasted amazing and the salad was super fresh too. Will only use this chippy from now on. Thanks guys ππΌ
