I booked a Sunday lunch for 20 on a busy sunny post Birmingham half marathon bank holiday weekend (I know - rubbish timing 🙄)
The pub team were great - accommodated allergies, a few last minute changes and the dreaded splitting of the bill.
The food was lovely - the Baileys Cheesecake was amazing an
The oldest inn in Birmingham; 1368. Decent pint of Guinness. Not bad prices. Brilliant Tudor aesthetics. Very pretty pub. Actually, quite a big pub with a beer garden/events area. It's definitely worth a visit.
Great atmosphere and in a good location. I like they have kept the traditional pub feel but also with the outdoor space cater for all different events and have music on etc not tried the food but will maybe visit on a quieter time.
Beautiful place. Wouldn't like to be drunk with the bedroom floors though! Like being at sea.
Only criticism really would be that they could do with some new mattresses. Apart from that, it was a beautiful place, lovely staff, really appreciated how the ancient features have been kept and highlight
Cosy modern interior design to an extremely historic venue. Obviously renovated numerous times, but you can still sense the history. there are helpful info blurbs dotted around the building. On a separate but equally important note, the food was faultless... a statement I have never made in my 34 ye
We stayed last night as we were visiting Birmingham for a night to attend a music concert at the o2 Institute. The welcome we received was warm and friendly from the guy behind the bar and although they were clearly busy it didn't take long for us to be shown to our room. We upgraded to the Quadrupl
Didn't stay in the pub just had a drink or two.
Well kept beer and comfortable. Toilets very clean. Hand drier and soap dispenser needed attention when I called
went for the quiz on wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised with the place - ended up staying for more drinks afterwards. lovely atmosphere - really nice smoking area too. will be going back
Great little pub I’ve been to several times. They have a nice selection of local beers plus really friendly atmosphere and staff.
Really nice old bar, lots of drink options and they pour a banging pint of Gunness
Traditional English pub. One that time has forgotten. Service and atmosphere were great. Well worth a visit.
Popped in for lunch and a drink whilst waiting for a gig at the 02 institute. Really friendly staff and a lovely roast belly pork dinner, good portion size, and good value for money
Great old pub in Digbeth, Birmingham, few very drunk people in there tho on a Saturday afternoon being very loud, beer quite expensive too at £6 a pint & no seats left
Decent pub with friendly staff, a stones throw from the O2 institute. Some nice real ales available too.
Beautiful looking building, part containing the Pub with B&B rooms upstairs. Very nice back court garden area with option of street food stall if you wish to have a change from an interesting pub menu. Effective
Very dog friendly that is unusual for a city pub. And wow, what a history for the place
Clean and tidy, beer was also kept well. We went on a week day so it wasn't busy. But imagine it gets busy later on.
Gorgeous old pub, one our faves. Very busy in summer
Didnt stay offer, just went for dinner, but totally want to stay overnight now. Service was warm and welcoming and the food was served quickly, it was piping hot and gorgeous.
