Found three church road while looking for the best afternoon tea in Birmingham and I wasn't disappointed. Welcoming and professional staff, quirky but calm decor with comfortable seating The sandwiches and cakes were delicious with accommodations for vegetarians. Definitely recommend 10/10

One of the best high tea experiences I have ever had in a long time.
Amazing food and great staff.
All the staff is so friendly, especially vinni.
A must place for all the tea lover, great ambience , can do a bit better with food option but what all was there was just simply tasty.

Unpretentious, yet neat, beautiful and clean, with friendly staff and great food.
We booked a table for lunch, in a visit to our daughter who'd just moved out for her first year at uni, living nearby.
The place is not very obvious, nor easy to find, needs a little exploring and asking, as no sign posts, sort of hidden-ish. It is right inside Audley Care Edgbaston, through the door to the right into the corridor then left.
Very special though, very lit, rosy tea house, only a few tables, cosy. I'd recommend, we'll probably be back, thank you!

Took the family for afternoon tea. It's not normally my thing but I couldn't fault this. Delicious cakes and sandwiches, great service, and lovely settings to relax and enjoy it all in. Definitely recommend this if you're looking to treat someone special. Definitely the best afternoon tea we've had, and that includes a famous one we had in London at 5 times the price.

Great service, great food, very clean.

Parking at front of building in spots marked for 3. You can enter via the reception entrance, use intercom and mention you would like to visit the restaurant. Mid afternoon breakfast was fresh and tasty took about 30mins to be prepared and service was spot on. Price for two was £39.90 I would recommend and would visit again

I have just had dinner here with a friend. I can get Categorically say probably the most enjoyable evening at a restaurant I have ever had. Below are four photographs of the meals we had, corn fed chicken, spiced sweet potatoes, wild mushrooms, smoked bacon. £15.95. For dessert I had spiced Bramley apple crumble, caramelised apple, vanilla custard. £6.50. It was magnificent. My friend had the pappardelle, bechamel sauce, smoked salmon, capers and dill, the salmon melted in your mouth. For dessert, she had a cinnamon creme Brule, spiced shortbread, fresh strawberries, £6.50. The crème brûle was stunning. The most wonderful ambience, in a relaxing environment one can only usually dream about. Very friendly staff who offer a service 2nd to none. This review is not sponsored, it is genuine. I want people to know they can have a wonderful meal, in a beautiful environment, reasonably priced, excellent service. What more could one ask for when going out for dinner.
Get along to this magnificent restaurant and have a wonderful meal in this Stunningly beautiful restaurant. I promise you will have a meal and an evening you will never forget.😀

Couldn't fault it really. The food was top notch in a lovely setting. It's slightly strange the fact it's part of a retirement village but don't let the put you off. Really good night out!

I drive here from Wolverhampton about every couple of months, and I have been doing it for about 4 years. I have always had a pleasant experience with exceptional food and really friendly staff. It has a really nice atmosphere too. Would give this place a 10/10 and can't say enough how much I would recommend this place 😊

We had heard about a hidden gem of a restaurant and thought we’d try it out ourselves and I am so glad we did. The food looked and tasted amazing and the guy that served us made us feel super special. Can’t wait to go back again.

Would love to keep this place a secret but this is an Absolutely Gem of a place. I went for a treat for my sisters birthday for an Afternoon Tea and I'm so glad I booked here. It was Amazing, the Afternoon Tea was excellent I've never had one before. The staff where really helpful and friendly and made us feel welcomed, the decor was beautiful and sitting out on the patio on a lovely sunny day was perfection.
Definitely would recommend give this hidden gem a try.
And be respectful of the Residents, as this is part of their home.
A 10/10 from me.

Nothing... really is too much trouble.
We booked this place for Friday night because we had the first night in 6 months with babysitting cover and both Adams and Wilderness were closed for Easter.
For the love of god, if you like either of those restaurants, don’t go here.
The first surprise was having to get there in the Taxi who can’t find it because it’s part of a retirement home.
The next was walking in. The waitress asks us to wait a minute because she’s busy. Then points towards an area with 4 or 5 tables (one of which had 4 people on it finishing a meal) and gave us the option of this area or “we’ve got some space in the bistro, it’s noisier and less formal”.
Given how dead the “restaurant” area was we said let’s go for the bistro. The member of staff (we then realised there was one waitress for both the restaurant and bistro on a Friday night... draw your own conclusions) showed us through.
They didn’t just have space. We had the whole place to ourselves. All 3 sections of the bistro. We picked the least creepy to be sat on your own. Which was still creepier than dinner with the Adams Family.
At this point I should probably say that we were there for the next 30 mins without being offered even a drink. And god did we need one.
It doesn’t help that I’m allergic to onions (actually allergic, not don’t like). But we are THE ONLY PEOPLE in both The restaurant and bistro.
There are only about 4 starters and 4 mains on the menu, and a few other things from the lunch menu. We gave them days of notice that I’m allergic to onions.
I wanted the cod with chorizo, butter beans and saffron potatoes. We are the only people in the whole restaurant. I’m not kidding when I say that someone has come to our house and cooked for more people.
But no. The chef has said I should have duck leg or steak and anything else is too much bother (the waitress checked with the kitchen and confirmed).
If you like cooking, just think for a second whether you could cook cod, chorizo, butter beans and saffron potatoes without onions. I’m not a professional chef (my father in law was) but I could. But they can’t.
When they have only two customers in the whole restaurant.
And we still haven’t been offered a drink. And this is our only night out together since October.
At this point I went outside and started calling other restaurants to say can you get us in in 5 minutes (Simpson’s were full, Ben at Highfield squeezed us in) so we left.
Really surprised by the lack of fuss or surprise at this point, the only conclusion I can draw is that it happens a lot.
The Highfield were brilliant, we relaxed as soon as we left 3 church road, both food and service were amazing.
Highfield - nothing was too much trouble
3 church road - doing nothing really was too much trouble

Had afternoon tea here to celebrate my mums 75th Birthday. From start to finish we were taken care of by Lynn & her staff. They made my mum feel so special. The atmosphere was lovely. The tea itself was delicious & the chef even made us Indian Masala Chai. Would highly recommend this place - you won't be disappointed!!

What a hidden treasure this place is. Everything is first class from the minute you walk through the door. The style and decor is first class, the welcome is first class, food was first class, the service is first class. The only downside is there needs to be more parking, for the restaurant. An extra mention to our Waitress the lovely Alice who is definately first class. Thank you for an enjoyable evening, can't wait to come back.

What a delightful birthday meal. Booked to go to Nosh & Quaff in city centre, but a technical problem with the kitchen on the day meant it was closed, so had to rebook at short notice and I'm glad we did.
The food and the service were excellent and it really made for a special occasion.
The staff were really so kind, polite and accommodating.
