Me and my partner won a raffle prize for afternoon lunch. And we had such a lovely time here, the staff were so friendly and polite and the food was amazing, it’s such a wonderful experience to have visited this cafe what with all the different photos and old fashioned furniture inside it was what it was like in the old days. Absolutely amazing. Xxx will definitely visit here again. Xxx

The toasted sandwiches were quite filling and the cakes are delicious. The café is quirky.....you can choose to sit in 'Elvis corner'. The lady serving is great, really pedantic about the table cloth being straight and everything being in it's proper place. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely ladies.

Long post but it has to be said!
My sister and myself first went into this fabulous tea room a few weeks after it opened. Full of nostalgia and memorabilia
Whilst chatting with Susan the owner we mentioned we thought our other sister who was terminally ill would love it. Susan offered to make her an afternoon tea for free if we could get her there
Sadly my sister deteriorated soon after and passed away in 2015. We have been in to the tea room a few times since whenever time allows.
We booked for an afternoon tea today for a celebration
First the food -
Delicious fresh selection of sandwiches, chicken salmon beef cheese + more. Gorgeous lemon drizzle cake pastrys and fresh cream scones Amazing!
Endless hot tea and a bell to summon for more Wonderful.
Susan greeted us like family. She remembered my deceased sister by name and that she couldn't be there to celebrate with us today. She collects for charity as a surviver herself and continues to offer afternoon tea for terminally ill people
A special lady with a fabulous tea room
Thank you so much for today xx

This lady is amazing, her name is Susan Oleary and she owns the lovely vintage tea room Polly put the kettle on in the Rubery high street.
She has followed my story since I was first diagnosed with cancer, she herself has been through cancer so messaged me with well wishes and support. Months ago she asked me to visit her shop to be treated to afternoon tea with friends and family but i never took up the offer.
She messaged my mom and told her to visit this shop this week. Where she has arranged for me and the whole family to go today and be spoilt for mothers day.
I have spent close to 6 weeks stuck in doors with pain but this past week I have prepared myself that I am going to get the energy to get up and go out.
We arrived this afternoon and the minute we opened the door we was spoilt completely.
Susan and her staff have done everything possible to make our afternoon so special.
I honestly can't thank her enough for making me and my family smile and have fun for a few hours this afternoon! The sandwiches, tea, cakes, scone and milkshakes were lovely. The best bonus being we got to bring home whatever we didn't eat!
Susan offers people with cancer to visit her free of charge and receives donations from people to be able to do this.
I want to say a huge thank you from all of us and to everybody else if you haven't yet then please go and visit this shop have a cup of tea and make a donation you will not be disappointed.
I will be having my operation this week but when I'm better and healed I will most definitely be back.

What an absolutely adorable cafe! Went there today with my sister, daughter and my mom as a treat for her birthday. We all thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea and the overall experience which included the red carpet treatment and happy birthday was sang at the end with a cake and candle (so thoughtful). Can't recommend this quirky, treasure of a place enough. Thankyou for such an enjoyable time!

My daughter and I had had lunch here today and it was fabulous! Great value for money and I especially liked the little touches like the bone China and the napkins. The toilet was very quirky too! This is an absolute diamond in Rubery!

Just love this tea room the best in Rubery. Sue and her mum are amazing and really friendly, The décor is wonderful with real vintage furniture - that 1940's sofa is supremely comfortable and I could have sat in it all day. I love the tea in proper cups and the homemade cakes are to die for. Next time you are in Rubery, why not pop in because Polly's is opposite the Post Office.

I would definitely recommend this Tearoom. Sue and her Mom are always very friendly and helpful. Haven't tried Sue's home baking yet but have it on good authority that that the cakes are amazing.
Tea tastes so much better out of China tea cups,.and it's lovely to have sugar cubes in a proper sugar bowl instead of packet sugar.
The decor reminds me of my wonderful childhood so i for one will support this new business to ensure we keep it open.
