We visited for an early dinner on Sat evening thank to a Groupon offer. Three courses and a bottle of wine for two people £50. Food was out of this world. Wine was a rather light red, but enjoyable. Views across the city were breath taking. The staff were friendly but a little over attentive. The sticky toffee pudding and Ice cream to die for

Visited for a birthday lunch for my #sexxiewench, and the experience was well above expectations. We were attended to by Lucky who was very attentive and professional to say the least. The ambience, view, staff and food was excellent. Will be coming back for sure.. Billionaires shortbread dessert was to die for... Well done MPW Steakhouse and Grill

Great ambience, halal food options available. Views from the rooftop are amazing. However drinks are overpriced. Would recommend a visit if you're around Birmingham

I only visited the bar whilst on a night out with friends. It has a fantastic lively atmosphere and is a great place to sit outside on a summers evening, with views across the city. Cocktails are priced a bit steep, but then I suppose it’s because of the location. I hope to return and try the food one day when I’m feeling flush!

This is like the go to restaurant when the pocket is a bit tight :)

They have changed their menu recently and have more vegetarian options now. One should definitely try the mushroom mac n cheese - really nice!!

Just make sure to register your car at the reception else you might get a parking ticket like I did :(

Marco pierre white rooftop bar is perched on top of The City cente Square. The bar itself elegant, like a modern hotel bar. At the rooftop bar, a sunset with the views of the London skyline is absolutely fantastic. The drinks are tailored for tourists and this shows on the quite high price tag.there is 3 other branches around london i tried only this now and it was simply amazing. There was even violinist and she was superbe....

This is a stake house being franchised under the brand of a celebrity chef. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the cube in central Birmingham and the great views being its main USP. Coming to the food well it is O.K for what they charge for it. Nothing special in terms of great food in my opinion. To enjoy this joint I would recomened drinks and tappas rather than a meal. Have fun !!

What: Steakhouse

Where: Mailbox - Birmingham Central

Value: £40pp - pricey
Food Review: The restaurant is owned my renowned Marco Pierre White, so you expect the food to be of high standard. This halal establishment did not disappoint. To get to the restaurant, you first had to take the lift through the hotel to reach the establishment which showcased a rooftop view complete with bar area.
A good range of cocktails were available but i stuck to the original pina coloda - didn't stand out, but was not complaining. The food tasted of high quality and produced a well seasoned and made steak, alongside country pub style chips and creamy spinach.
As it was a my birthday, a creme brulee with happy birthday was written upon it. Not only was it all for me but it was a delicious, creamy creme brulee. Alll in all, not a disappointment, until the bill.
Settings Review: Set in the heart of Birmingham, high in the sky of one of Birmingham's Modern iconic building, boasting stunning views and the one of the best places to see the surrounding area. The decor is also modern and clean cut to represent the feel of the restaurant.

Positives: high quality food, good steak

Negatives: expensive.

Located on the 25th floor of new landmark The Cube, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill is the first restaurant in Birmingham to offer 360 degree views of the city. Dine Birmingham invited famous local lady Alison Hammond along to sample fine dining served in an Empire State Of Mind.

As I waited at the bar for my lunch date, ITV1’s This Morning reporter and local doyenne Alison Hammond, I regretted not making it an evening booking. Admiring a twinkling city below which could be anywhere in the world, would send the glamour quota of this already glitzy venue through the roof.

When Alison arrived we were shown to our table in the chic and spacious restaurant area. The hearty all-day menu includes a pleasing number of other dishes as well as steak. For starters, I opted for the six-month cured coppa ham moscardo di cremona, a colourful dish so beautifully presented that I spent a few moments gazing at it! Mostardo Di Cremona is an Italian preserve of candied fruit and a mustard flavoured syrup. The sweet/spicy tang perfectly complemented the ham and the portion was so generous I had no desire to touch the bread basket.

Alison ordered the calamari, which were very flavoursome. Starters aside, Marco Pierre White seriously caters for the comfort eater. I could have kissed the waiter for recommending the roast rump of lamb a la dijonnaise with pommes dauphinois. The meat was succulent, juicy and very pink, and the potatoes were crispy on top and super-creamy inside. Alison opted for the pork belly marco polo and butter beans but because of the “mmm” noises I was making, couldn’t hide her food envy!

My starter and mains were nicely matched with merlot cabernet sauvignon. Teetotal Alison kept refreshed with coke. Both of us were mindful of being in detox January, so it was disappointing to discover that the kitchen had run out of spinach. We were somewhat appeased, however, with very tasty roasted vegetables as a side dish.

Marco Pierre White is known for classic, rich English puddings. Egging each other on, we decided to order three to share! Crème brulee, bread and butter pudding and sticky toffee pudding helped us to end our indulgent lunch magnificently! Afterwards we were given a tour of the suitably A-list style Laurent Perrier Champagne Lounge, also on the 25th floor of The Cube.

Alison’s verdict

“It’s a fabulous location with great views and food. The company wasn’t too shabby either! I love really sweet puddings so the bread and butter pudding, sticky toffee pudding and the accompanying sauces went down a treat. The crème brulee was sadly one pudding too many – even for both of us!”

We enjoyed an excellent meal, purchased for me as a 50th birthday present and using a Buy a Gift voucher. We paid a little extra to sit next to the window and there were great choices on the menu. All the food was tasty and well presented and service was excellent throughout.

We went on a Monday night straight from work at around 6pm- it wasn't busy at all and we got to sit at the windows. This was a £5 supplement. We ordered some olives and bread for the table which was delicious, and then a Chateaubriand for sharing, with some extra sides and a bottle of red wine. It was all very tasty. The steak could have been a bit bigger, so we were glad we got the sides. We ended up having desserts as well- the mousse was good. The wine was reasonably priced as well. We got a 25% discount with a blue light card, but we had to return the bill as it was not worked out correctly. The service was good and would go back, but not exceptional- I'd probably recommend Goucho instead for everything other than the view, which Marco's had in spades.

I have 4 for food. We had a buy a gift voucher given to us, when we called to book we were told it's only Monday to Friday 12-5 so limited hours. Was a small choice in food once there. But, husband loved his steak, gnocchi was OK and lots of it but got boring as every mouthful was a bit bland and the same. Service from staff was great, they were very attentive. You pay extra for window views but it's not worth it. They did surprise us with a anniversary plate which was lovely.

Best view in Birmingham. Absolutely gorgeous evening we had, both ordering the signature steaks shared with a bottle of wine. The entire ambiance and open space felt welcoming and inviting, plus once it got to 8pm and the live music started, it added to the romantic scene even more. The singer was amazing, and her voice was the perfect background to enjoying cocktails out on the terrace. The food was delicious as expected, and prices weren't as steep as comparable to London. The service was almost *too* good, as at one point we had 4 different people serving us, either topping up our drinks, asking if we needed any sauces, and accidentally delivering us another bottle of wine. We definitely felt cared for! Even without booking a window-side table, we still had great views of Birmingham, admiring the University clocktower from our meals. Though we only had the table for 2 hours, by that point in the evening we were ready to sit outdoors and watch the sunset. We're already thinking of coming back sometime soon!

The place truly lives up to its hype and aura. Marco Pierre White isn’t a dine-in restaurant, it’s an experience. The views from the 25th floor are simply breathtaking. The food, seating, ambience was great. The hospitality too was nourishing by Miss Nash and others. The staff were courteous enough to help us make our anniversary dinner memorable. Looking forward towards celebrating more milestones there.

First time here this evening. Calamari beautiful, loved the tarta sauce, steak was cold not sure why I didn't mention it so I suppose my own fault best peppercorn sauce ive had in a long time. 10 pound for a bottle of water bit expensive I thought, wasn't to fussed as I wasn't paying lol. Chocolate brownie was lush small but lush 😋

Like a lot of people, we had a buy a gift voucher to use here and was initially quite sceptical as we had heard a lot of negative reviews about both the food and service, but especially that the service was awful. Upon arrival, we were about 10mins early for our booked table only to be told by the front of house staff that there would be at least a 15minute wait for a table as we had booked a window seat. To be honest, the 2 girls working the front of house were very unfriendly and almost made it appear to be a chore to serve us, so it was not a great start. After about 30 mins after arriving and over 20 mins after our booking time we were seated at our table, we were sat at window seat and the view was fantastic, definitely the best view in Birmingham without a doubt. We were served by Nash and she was great, couldn’t knock her service at all and was quite refreshing after the front of house staff were quite unfriendly. To start, we had the calamari which was great, a decent sized portion and very tasty. The tarter sauce it was served with was lovely. For main, we had the pig burger but Nash kindly swapped it to beef with no extra charge and my partner had the steak. The burger was great, clearly decent quality and the burger sauce on it was very tasty indeed. Chips were okay, probably not as good as other places but still quite nice. My partner thought the steak was nice but would probably prefer one from Miller and Carter. We shared a brownie for dessert and it was amazing, again a decent portion and much better than other brownies you may get in a pub. Overall it was a very nice meal, saved by Nash’s great service and the food was definitely of a high standard. Not sure how I would feel about paying full price (would possibly go to Miller and Carter at resorts world and still get a great view), but if you have a voucher you are sure to have a great time.

Before flying back to Australia on 20.06.23, my dear friend and I had some drinks and a late lunch. We paid extra for sitting near the window. Never had to do that before. The food was great but the biggest shout-out goes to Natanya our waitress. What an asset she is to the restaurant. If she was not sure about the menu items she would check with the chef. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She then brought out the most touching plate. Thank you Natanya for making my visit to the restaurant so memorable and personal 🙏🏼🥰

We only had cocktails there instead of dinner. They were actually lovely, although a little pricey. We simply made our own order at the bar and paid for it there; no one approached us. The location and decorating were fantastic, especially the view, and the chairs were really comfortable. We sat very next to the window and enjoyed the view.

Although there was not a lot of gluten free starter and desserts (the usual sorbet), the steak was worth the visit. Zaza our waiter was fantastic and really knew the menu and wines. He knew exactly what I could eat and I felt really confident and looked after by him.
