Great place to visit, whether it's just for a coffee or for meal.
We had both.
Coffee with a pastry and some brunch.
Great food.
Quality ingredients and tasty.
Good atmosphere with a nice interior decor.
Friendly service.
Can be a delay on food at the busiest times.
We had the urban breakfast and eggs benedict.

I had the pleasure of having lunch at Urban Cafe and I must say, their food is absolutely delicious and the service is alright. However, there's one aspect that left me a bit puzzled the additional charge for oat and soya milk options. These milk alternatives are vital for individuals like myself who have dietary requirements, such as lactose intolerance.
It's a bit disheartening to see an extra cost attached to something that's essentially a necessity for many. After all, it's not a choice but rather a dietary need. In a time when inclusivity and catering to diverse dietary needs are becoming more prominent, this policy seems out of touch.
Despite my overall positive experience, this milk surcharge does cast a shadow. It would be wonderful if Urban Cafe could reconsider this policy, showing a more considerate and inclusive approach to their customers' needs.

The cafe was clean and the food was lovely and tasty. You can sit inside or outside. When the sun us out its there all day so it nice to sit out. Staff are friendly. The food was reasonably priced. I would definitely go again. 💜

Lovely food, lovely coffee, surprisingly decent prices for Birmingham. Service was reasonably quick for a busy Saturday afternoon, staff were really friendly.
The poached eggs in particular were outstanding!
Only criticism I can say is that the chairs indoors are not designed to accommodate the backside of the average person, and could do with being larger/wider.

Lovely friendly vibe. Fantastic cakes and they were super helpful in replacing a drink as we forgot to ask for oat milk! Thank you! 😊👍

All you can expect from the typical café bar with a better coffee selection than your typical Starbucks/Nero/Costa. The food was decent enough for a quick bite in the morning. I ordered a V60 filtered coffee, which was great—definitely, a place to grab a coffee when around.

We had an experience that started not too great, but got better thanks to the lovely staff. It was full when we arrived, and it was hard to find a table. After sitting down we did have to wait for our table to be cleaned and ended up clearing it ourselves so we could sit, but it was sticky still, so we asked for a wipe. That's when we realised that staff was having an issue with the coffee grinder and struggling. We got a free brownie later to make up for the wait, which was a very nice detail that we're thankful for.
The food itself was lovely and arrived very swiftly. Great bread and coffee!

Stopped here for a quick lunch - we got the soup of the day which was butternut squash and carrot (£5.95). The soup was really tasty and came with a lovely big slice of crusty bread. However we waited for over 30 minutes for this.
The menu looks good but on the pricier side - slices of cake for £4.20 each is quite a bit.

The last full week of #eatouttohelpout is here. A good time to try new independents and eateries 😊
Starting off the morning with some breakfast, I popped to this local cafe only a short walk away from me as drove past it for a while but never been in. Urban has 3 venues but this is the closest to me.
Inside it has a very hip look to it with wooden tables and modest lighting inside which weren't too bright. I was greeted straight away by the member of staff. There is a one entrance in and exit system in place and tables were placed with the appropriate distancing measures in place.
Today I've ordered a classic full English breakfast to get me started for the day with some tea as I'm not a coffee drinker.
The difference with this is that it comes with sourdough toast, cherry tomatoes and sliced mushrooms with thyme; a minor twist to the norm.
It came quickly. The presentation of this was gorgeous and definitely had a quirky twist to it. It tasted great and everything was cooked to how I would like it.
This cost £5.87 after the government discount.
I would definitely visit here again.

It's a great airy, vegan, and pet friendly place :)
I can only recommend this lovely nudget. Rarely do I find a place that allows dogs and gives dog treats for free 😀 I've only ever had a friendly and warm welcome from ALL of the staff on numerous occasions. It's also nice that they cater to various dietary requirements so easily.

What: Eggs Florentine for Lunch
Where: Jewellary Quarter, Birmingham, UK
The Dish: Eggs Florentine
Value: £10pp
Food Review: To order: Flat White Coffee, Eggs Florentine

The flat white was made straight away and was a beautiful strong yet creamy consistency, the latte art could be improved upon but as far coffee's go, it is pretty great and will definitely wake you up.

Then came the eggs florentine in no time at all ( which was good because this was on my lunch break). The eggs were loaded with hollandaise sauce which might not be some, but I waa definitely satiafied. Out of the two eggs one was slightly overcooked and did not have a runny yolk but considering the rest of the meal was great, this can be overlooked asnit did come out quickly.
Sadly, I didn't have time to try out thier cake range but will be going back soon so watch out for that.
Sober Status: Alcohol is not served on site
When I next visit I would have: Brownies
Halal: No
Internal and External Review:
Located in Jewellery Quarter, in the square, it is a great location, cum Winter or Summer. A glass front with double restaurant space, this cafe is all outabout the interiors.
Minimalist wooden furnishings with small and large tables and cosy reading corners.
The Service: The service was great and the food was delivered quickly. Due to it being a lunch time, the tables were veing taken up rather quickly but there was plenty of space still. Food was delivered quickly and any empty places were cleaned away effeciently.
Sum up:
A great cafe in Jewellery Quarter and definitely one of the best coffee shops in Birmingham.
