Popped in today for my usual and the guy at the till was so lovely. When he passed me my croissant he complimented my hair colour as well which was so nice. There’s not enough people spreading positivity and just being kind these days but thought this was so lovely. All the staff are genuinely very nice and always a good atmosphere despite it forever being busy! (Sign of a good spot).

A lovely Starbucks, very convenient and central but there weren’t many tables indoors. Thankfully it was a beautiful day so I was able to sit outside instead.

Love the atmosphere of the floor below, warm ambient lighting. Cozy and not too crowded. Finally had their matcha latte (without syrup), you can really taste the matcha. Compared to Pret, I’d say this matcha latte is better.

Great service, I ordered via mobile 40 seconds before arriving. My order was made very quickly without quality being sacrificed. Cute little area for mobile orders which helps awkward people like myself as I could just wait in that area for my drink.

I was served this morning by a gentleman called graham who serves me every time I go in to get coffee, he is always friendly, smiley and happy to help and really does brighten my day when he serves me
He’s an asset to your store and he definitely deserves to be recognised for always being so amazing!

Good as any other starbucks for coffee with extra seating downstairs. The mobile data signal diminishes significantly down there though, forcing you to use the starbucks wifi.

Big shout out to Jessie for going above and beyond and giving me a serving tray to carry my 8 drinks across the street to the venue I work in. She has made my day so much brighter and easier !

Customer service was lovely and a pleasure to deal with. I recognise Jess has been a wonderful worker and like to thank her for my perfect drink and service at new Street, Birmingham

I stopped coming to this branch a while back after the lacklustre service and taste in comparable to other branches. However, Zem or Prezem (not sure how to say his name) from this store has restored my faith that there are people who understand the requirements of a customer. Friendly, polite, excellent manners, attentive and first class service. Give this man a raise.

Just stop by there and have one of Xmas selections: Gingerbread latte. Cold creamy top with crisp of gingerbread on the top of hot latte. I like it but if you are after just coffee latte, I wouldn't recommend that as taste a bit different and sweety.

The Non-Alcoholic Guide

Overview: The Toffee Nut Latte on the Christmas Menu

What is it: Toffee Nut Latte

What does it taste like: Sweet and Sticky and definitely indulgent. Part of the Christmas menu and very festive.

Interior/Exterior: This is a great place for people watching, especially on the ground floor. In the basement is great for meeting large groups of people and for working as there are many quiet corners to work without distraction.

Price: £3.20

Value for Money: This is a bit pricey but all the festive drinks available in coffee shops are priced the same.

What else is on offer: Coffee, Tea and other hot drinks
Alcohol on Site: No

Where: Birmingham

Check out more reviews at SoberHedonist.net

I remember sitting here in those cold Decembers waiting for a train to go to Edinburgh or Warwick or London or wherever... This place is at a stone throws distance from New Street Station and you would see a lot of passengers walking in, grabbing a coffee and waddling out.

The food and drinks here are as good or as bad as any other Starbucks. The most striking feature of this place is the ginormous glass windows which open to one of the busiest pedestrian crossings in Birmingham.

You get this weird sort of nostalgic feeling when you sit there looking at the crowds walking past going about their business.

The seating inside is great. The staff are okish and coffees are not particularly great except for Americano. But one can't really go wrong with black coffee so I won't give them browny points for that.
