Best Halal Chinese in Birmingham
This takeaway has been open for over 30 years. The owner is so friendly and hilarious. He made a point to remind me that he's been doing this before I was born. He told me his wife makes the food. The inside was tidy and pristine,
Once I chose my dishes with his help, he asked me one by one which vegetables I'd like to add with it...and whether I'd like it to be made extra spicy, medium or mild...and literally and other changes I'd like to make.
The food was amazing and totally different to any Chinese takeaway food I've had. It was not oily and it wasn't extremely salty but there was a deep rich flavour. The black bean beef I had was extremely juicy and tender and the portions were massive. The chicken chow mein is one of the best I've ever tasted. The prices are extremely reasonable as well.
In summary this is healthy, delicious, authentic Chinese food served with a smile from an establishment that's survived the test of time.
Don't let the plain and unassuming exterior fool you...this truly is a hidden gem and place that needs to be tried!
This is easily one of my favorite ever takeaways. The food is incredible and the friendly service makes it even better. The beef chow mein is to die for; with the meat being so tender and flavourful. The owner also showed me proof that his supplier for the meat is all HMC halal approved. This is a collection only takeaway but well worth the drive from anywhere in Birmingham. 5* all the way!
I have been going to this Chinese Takeaway for over 20 years now and even though I have left the area I will still travel back here to have their amazing food and even better service. The owner is always so welcoming and friendly. I hope places like this stay open for many more years to come.
Felt welcome the second I walked in. He went through what was the best options in the menu according to our likes. Once we ordered the food, he kept us company whilst we waited and also showed us that they are in fact halal - all meat served is halal. Food arrived quite quickly. The food was served hot and tasted amazing. Probably will become a regular! Plus he gave us prawn crackers on the house.
Recommend the chow mein, beansprout dishes, black bean dishes, chicken corn soup... Everything! Beef is succulent, all meat generously portioned. Well priced. حلال

Nicest owner, so helpful and welcoming. We had the beef chow mein and it was juicy, and the beef was succulent and soft. It was brilliant! Very reasonable prices. Looking forward to the rest of the menu.
Delicious,,,healthier option than fried chicken and burgers outlets that surround it.
Above comments from 4 years ago...however something has changed for me over last few visits....the sauce or ingredients have not been tasty at all...unappetizing and tasteless..tried on several occasions to see if it would improve...it hasn't....sorry i won't be buying again.
Good value for money. Friendly place. Very pleasant experience. Owner is a positive and welcoming person. Hidden gem in Small Heath - Don’t let the exterior put you off. This is a special place.
Absolutely delightful gentleman who served. Food was lovely ( vegetable fried rice and prawn chow mein, with chicken noodle soup) a great take out locally in small heath.
