Best Indian food in Birmingham by far. Absolutely love the food. There is a big difference between a curry house and true Indian food and you'll know it when you come here. Highly recommended.

Great place, good food. However, always just the one guy working at front no matter how busy. Give the guy a break!

Amazing food and the service was brilliant unlike other places in the area. Lamb chops are brilliant.

Went along for a friend's birthday, we had a beautiful night. The meal was enjoyed by all... We were catered for brilliantly, the manager took time to talk to us. Great night, great banter

Went in after 10 on a dead night with no one around, great service - friendly and very welcoming. They were happy for us to take our time. Food was good. Bring your own booze from shops opposite. All in all, a good choice for a curry in Moseley.

Excellent food. Great service. Javid always looks after us. Plenty of value too.

Had a fantastic meal with friends. Decor is very posh but prices are very reasonable. Their gosht was melt-in-your-mouth, and everything else we ordered was lovely and authentic. Extremely delicious food all around, and the service was excellent. Definitely will visit in the future!

Had a lovey meal for my birthday, food is always good, waited quite a time between courses, however it was very busy and the waiters did come and apologize a couple of times, and it was worth the wait. The staff found time to bring out my cake and sing happy birthday.

Great Indian restaurant that we stumbled across on a night out in Moseley. From afar it doesn't look like an Indian restaurant as the interior looks very different from most which was a refreshing change! The staff were extremely polite and friendly and the food was amazing; I've found most Indian restaurants suffer from all the dishes tasting pretty much the same, but of the four dishes we tried here they all tasted wonderful and very different.
Food - 5/5
Interior - 5/5
Service - 5/5

Extremely delicious food all around and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. The garlic chili chicken and Lamb Chops delicious. Definitely will visit in the future!

Really great. The everything from the tandor was fantastic. For main they offer a kilo of lamb or chicken from "mothers special recipe", takes 45 minutes but subtle and we'll balanced flavours. 2 portions fed 6 of us. They're also allow byob, which makes it one of the best deals in Moseley.

Normal service nothing special in asian cuisine. Service is slow and food is not anything to say wow. Decor need brightening up.

Imlees is beautiful Indian restaurant located in the heart of Moseley. It has a classy modern vibe packed into this small space. I believe there is an upstairs dining room as well, but I haven't been sat up there yet. I have tried a few Indian restaurants since moving to Brum and Imlees is the only one I really like.
I've dined here 3 times now and we are always greeted at the door. The restaurant is not licensed so you can take in your own beer/wine/etc. Across the street are two shops in case you get thirsty and forget to bring your own.
The menu seems to have a good variety; lots of starters to choose from and a page and a half of mains. The poppadoms always taste fresh. There are 3 different dips served with the poppadoms. There is an onion chutney, a spicy red dip, and a mint dip. I'm still new to Indian food so I'm not the best with my descriptions.
For this visit, I tried chicken tikka for a starter and Bagaara chicken for a main. The chicken dishes were both flavourful! The Bagaara was a tad too spicy for me. I usually choose Butter chicken (which is fantastic) but decided to be a bit more adventurous this visit. In between the starter and main you are served sorbet to cleanse the palate. We also had some delicious naan and pilau rice.
As far as price, Imlees is quite affordable. It offers take out too if you aren't up for formal dining. Anyone finding themselves hungry in Moseley should give them a try!

I had a vegetarian chickpea curry which was ok, but not fantastic. Portion sizes are big. Services is friendly and fast. The naan bread was a bit too oily for my taste. At the time I was there, they only accepted cash.

Imlee's is fast becoming my favourite Indian restaurant, the interior decor has a classy feel and the staff are very friendly and attentive, most importantly the food is delicious!
I'm usually reluctant to try lamb curries but the meat is so succulent and tender that the lamb specials are my favourite dishes at Imlee's. I've tried a fair few of the specials and they are definitely the way to go if you want a real taste sensation but I've also recently sampled the age old Brummy favourite of a Chicken Tikka Masala and it was yummy!
Portions are just right, it's not often I can finish a full curry but I usually manage it here (partly because they're so tasty!), If you're really hungry go for a starter as well.
One of the best things about Imlee's is that it's not licensed so you can bring your own wine! This makes a delicious and classy dining experience inexpensive.
Definitely highly recommend to anyone who loves Indian food!

I'm spoilt for choice when it comes to Indians in my area, so I was surprised to see Moseley restaurant owners were much more shrewd with their business strategy i.e. not opening an Indian restaurant in a 1km proximity to 5 other Indian restaurants.
Anyway on first impressions it has a very luxurious facade which cajoled me in as though 3 wishes awaited me inside. It is a very slick restaurant and they do a very good job of representing this with their exterior, this impression was only supported by their staff who were incredibly attentive and friendly. Somehow it feels as though Imlees has been part of Moseley for years, it has a very established feeling to it and they seem to have acquired a very loyal customer base despite being one of the newer restaurants on the parade.
The food was some of the best Indian food I've ever had. I had to compare their chicken korma with a my catalogue of previously consumed chicken kormas, and I must say I think it was the best one I've had.
Imlees provides an impeccable dining experience, so be kind to yourself and go there.

We have had a few curry's at Imlees. Having the Chicken and King prawn curry, both always tasting slightly sweet then the average curry and the portions were very small also.
Not the best, but not the worst..

This is a relatively new Indian restaurant which has popped up in Moseley Village with a cunning tactic to attract customers: free food. When the weather was sunny out and the arts fair and farmer's market were drawing crowds to Moseley, Imlees were giving generous testers of their curries. It definitely hooked me in and 2 weeks later my sister and I chose Imlees for our takeaway night.
The inside is plush and the tables are set with precision and style. Unfortunately the lamb was a little tough and although we chose the same curry (lamb katwi) we had got a cheeky taste of previously it wasn't as good as we'd remembered.
I've only recently got on the butter chicken hype, but if there is one to get you excited it's the one from this restaurant. We tasted the matter paneer which was a nice accompaniment. I thought the food was delicious and a refreshing change from the usual balti restaurants.
