Food great well worth the money. Staff have always been friendly

Been here a few times, good for a simple meal, service is a bit slow, portion sizes are not the biggest for the money but food is tasty and well made, I recommend the beef and chicken kofta burger, it's nice and spicy, different from the normal bread crumbed chicken burgers..... The only downside is it's always packed with noisy families who just socialise upstairs and don't order food, it's become a Coventry Road culture

Friendly staff good food but took tooo long to make food

If you want to cut to the chase read the last few lines of this review. Driven past this fast food joint several times, catchy and inviting external decor stands out but Small Heath has notorious parking problems . Finally went out of our way to try it out Thursday night last week partly out of the dearth of decent Halal burger places in Birmingham. To name a few, Faraz across the road probably was the reigning best value in my opinion (but read on !); Tinseltown at Star City probably the best outright but way too hit and miss and way too overpriced. So back to Buba Joe's ... the interior I think is nicely done up too with pictures of Manhattan culture on the walls ... all quite aspiring and admittedly building up expectations. I have read reviews on Facebook that have been quite negative about the food itself as well as the service. (As I don't use facebook I couldn't write a review and my search led me to this site). As regards the service , the way I see it is , this is Small Heath so what do you expect ? Having said that , my one off experience of the service was pretty unremarkable but not bad in any way, in terms of attitude to me or the timeliness though I did hear what appeared to sound like one of the employees telling a manager off ! Maybe deservedly so who knows . Most of the menu is chicken but they do 2 or 3 beef burgers . I went for a single cheese beefburger meal with drink which believe it or not was less than £3 ! It's meant to be hand pressed prime 100% beef patties. The burger was done in the style of a McDonalds cheeseburger ie. with ketchup , mustard and possibly pickle too. If you sit upstairs at the front there are some comfy swivel chairs with a people-watching view of Coventry Rd. Food-wise I think this place could become a regular stop before hitting Bull Ring on Saturdays for me.

And my verdict ... (disclaimer: based on my first and only visit to date) ... certainly not gourmet but look at the price , to be fair it emulated the McDonalds cheeseburger very well in my opinion . The beef pattie was faultless , the mustard and ketchup were decent and finally they did not skimp on the quality of the bun . I will be trying the double cheeseburger next time and look forward to it. If I can find a place to park !

Just stopped at bubba Joe's. Some new burgers on the menu. Just had a combo with onion rings.chicken, beef,egg. Very nice. Delicious fillings and sauce. Very tasty.

Ordered two chicken fillet burgers. Both were so crispy. The Mexican nacho burger was delicious! The menu has a lovely variety to choose from and you are truly spoiled for choice. Affordable prices with a burger meal costing around £4.99. friendly customer service too. only down side is cash only.... Card system would just be so much easier.

Great food a little on the small side but food is tasty

Love the food. Value for money. Always understaffed on weekends, service is always slow when understaffed, chicken is never topped up. Ice cream machine never topped up when understaffed. They need to invest back in this place which sadly is becoming neglected.

Great food. I had a 4x Pattie bubba burger and had a chicken fillet burger with chicken strips as two singles. They were very tasty and full of flavour. I had extra spacial sauce on the side too. The sauce ads another level of flavour to the burgers and it compliments it well. That sauce is not too spicy ads some tang and spice to any accompanying side you may have on your visit. I did try to order corn on the cob but I was disappointed to find out they had non in stock. Hence the 4 stars if it was on the menu and they had it in I would loved to have given bubba Joe's a 5 star rating. The staff were very friendly and provided a good service.
