This is a small fish and chip shop with great quality food . Recently I found out that every night when closing the staff give leftover food away to the homeless in the area . In fact the homeless wait outside and the staff count how many people are there (not many between 3-10 approximately) then they make up the correct amount of meals for everyone to have . The night I was there talking to a friend and noticed what was going on a fresh batch of chips was made so everyone had chips to accompany whatever else was there from chicken, kebabs, fish etc . What a great shop , support this local shop and help feed the homeless
A realy nice fish and chips shop in Alum Rock. Fresh chips and fresh cod made everyday. they also do curry sauce. Price isn't expensive and the wait time isnt too bad. worth a try (on a cold rainy day :))
This place is way better than My Favourite Chip Shop in Alum Rock road.
Not a tramp or a junkie eating from this classic old school place & the prices are cheap compared to My Favourite Chip Shop.
The staff have manners & they are never rude at all.
Amazing place, have to say got the best fish and chips in Birmingham!! Can't forget the curry sauce. Been told there chicken was nice so definitely will be trying that next time
Love there chicken n chips and fish and chips nice portions. Never had a problem here. Nice curry sauce to 👍 this place is nice and simple old skool chippy 👍
There southern fried chicken is mainly freshly cooked not like other shops. Chicken is always on point. It's not your 99p chicken and chips rubbish. Nice lads work there service is good. Don't bother any where else nasty chip shops local
Cant go wrong with good clean fish and chips. Portions are good and the curry sauce is the icing 😋

Chips are fresh, fish is flaky and crispy, doner meat is juicy and the portion sizes are quite generous too
Spring rolls are nice, scallops are huge and crispy golden, sausage roll is nice, chicken doner is nice too
Just overall a great time when eating at Highfield
I do knock points off for the chilli sauce though, easily the worst item on the menu. It's just spicy and that's it. I never order it as it ruins the flavor of the rest of the dish
Other than that, 5/5 a must try
The fry chicken is moist and juicy and flavorful in every bite and the fish has a very nice and crispy batter. Highly recommended.
