As many others have attested too, Damascena Coffee House is really a beautiful establishment.
The coffee here is authentic and exceptional. The selection of food is vast and good, however, we felt it was a lot pricier than what it was worth. We were also disappointed with the baklava.
Regardless, definitely worth visiting, and we appreciated the great service.
We visited Damascena last week. We absolutely loved it! The flavours in their dishes were incredibly authentic, bringing the taste of the Middle East to every bite. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and their coffee was exceptional too. A must-visit for anyone craving genuine Middle Eastern cuisine and a cozy coffee spot!
Been here a few times and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They also have spaces with plugs where you can come and work. I’d like to start off by saying I’m not a big fan of foods like falafel and hummus etc but I actually really enjoy and like the falafels here. It can be confusing looking at the menu at first as there are so many options!
If it’s your first time visiting, try a falafel platter with your choice of hummus dip.
During my last 2 visits I also tried the mixed mezze where you get falafels, salad, choice of dip, and a choice of what appears to be a cross between a curry-soup-dip. I opted for the “fuul medames” which is creamy and has fava beans. And then the other time I tried “fuul damascena” which is tomato based. You can order these flat wraps to dip and scoop the liquid up.
The menu has been updated so you can actually see what everything looks like before you order which was super helpful for me.
Lastly, I have also tried their desserts (lotus biscoff cheesecake, a lebanese dessert that has cream and jam in a sponge, and a vegan lemon cake) - I liked them all and paired them with an english breakfast tea (despite them having a wide variety of teas and coffees because I’m a bit basic like that :) )
Had the Juz Muz (eggs and tomatoes brunch) and Turkish coffee. Omg. This was divine. So so nice. Service with a smile too, and a great menu that was more a culinary brochure and really well marked up for allergies, food intolerances etc - I’m gluten free and dairy free and the menu was so easy. Lots on offer.
I ordered the mixed meze to share - Avocado hummus, fuul medames, fatuush, falafels and flatbread.
Each of the dishes were well balanced and very tasty.
The staff were attentive and the fresh juice options were incredibly refreshing on such a hot day,
Thank you!
Food was really delicious and decent size portions for the price. Also staff were very friendly. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is that food took quite a long time to arrive, fortunately we weren’t in a hurry 😝
Only called in for a cup of tea and some soup. Service was great and the soups to die for. Will be back next time we are in the neighbourhood
Very friendly staff and a chilled place to grab a bite to eat. Food was top quality and price is fair. I particularly like the fact that every Damascena we’ve been to so far has a slightly different menu so always something new to discover.
Damascena in the Jewellery Quarter has plenty of seating inside as well as some tables outside. The interior is their signature style, very nice. The food is absolutely delicious, there is plenty of choice on the menu. Plenty of drinks choice as well. Their freshly squeezed orange juice with rose water is so tasty and refreshing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food arrived very quickly even though it was quite busy. Overall very nice experience and recommend for a quick lunch.
Best falafel I’ve ever eaten anywhere. And it’s gluten free.
Yummy spiced tea and the waitress is so lovely.
