Among the Chinese restaurants in Birmingham, this is definitely one of the better ones — easily in the top 20%. The noodles are springy and delicious, and I would recommend giving them a try. The broth is also quite good. The only downside is that the braised beef in the Lanzhou noodles isn’t as flavorful as it should be.

I really enjoyed my experience at hot 7. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, explaining the menu and giving great recommendations.
