A delightful experience awaits at "Giggling Squid" in Bishop's Stortford, where the magic of Thai cuisine truly shines. Each dish, redolent with the profound symphony of Thai flavors, is a journey to the land of smiles. Every mouthful was a revelation; the bold flavors simultaneously surprised and delighted. The eatery itself is a comforting enclave, reflecting the warmth and vibrancy of Thailand.
However, the experience had room for improvement. The manageress, while maintaining professionalism, could have showcased more warmth. A smile, a simple curve that sets everything straight, was notably absent from her countenance. It was the Thai waitress, full of genuine friendliness, who provided the saving grace. Her authentic charm enriched our experience, compensating for the managerial frostiness.
In summation, Giggling Squid delivers a deeply satisfying gastronomic experience, beautifully intertwined with the occasional sparks of true Thai hospitality. It’s a definite must-visit for lovers of Thai cuisine. A strong four stars, with potential for perfection!

We had an amazing dinner for my mum’s birthday, the food, service and atmosphere was perfect. I’d like to especially thank Aoi Aoi for her excellent service and for going above and beyond with setting up and bringing out my mum’s birthday cake. Thank you!
An excellent restaurant in a small but beautiful town. The decoration is really lovely amd most importantly the food is delicious. The service is very friendly with a smile. The other customers seemed as satisfied and happy as we were. Thenk you Giggling Squid
Stopped in when staying at the airport for an early morning flight. The service is attentive and professional. The food is sublime - balanced, fresh and delicious. Absolutely worth every penny

We had Lamb Massaman, Chicken Red Thai Curry with Jasmine rice & Mixed platter of starters . Salt & Pepper squid was fresh & crispy ! Best I've ever had and generous portions for 2 persons .
Sancha tea came in a lovely tea pot ( enough for 2)
It is quite pricey but happy to pay as food excellent .
Toasted Rice ice cream to finish was lovely also .

Service was attentive and food was excellent, I visited at lunchtime and it was quite quiet...I imagine in the evenings this is an even better experience.
Green papaya salad just like delivered from Thailand by magic, purely delicious! Green curry great. Portions perfect to feed hungry belly (starter plus main). But the biggest surprise were ice creams and sorbets. Unusual flavours. Highly recommended!

Awesome food and great ambience, I ended up eating here twice in the same week.
First time visiting since lockdown and felt so comfortable in this restaurant in comparison to some others. Staff were all wearing masks, they seated people more than 2m apart and they cleaned tables thoroughly after people left.
I always love Giggling Squid, the staff in this branch have always been super polite, accommodating and attentive. They're so friendly and lovely that it just makes the whole experience so lovely and welcoming and that's why I'll always return back here.
Now onto the food. One word: WOW! I forgot how delicious and flavourful the food was here. I had a vegetarian meal here for the first time and the flavour wasn't compromised at all, it was absolutely delicious and the presentation was so pretty too even down to the cute jasmine tea (sorry forgot to take a picture).
Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Stortford, it's probably my favourite restaurant in town!
The decoration of the restaurant is really nice but the food was the high point for us. Really tasteful food without being too spicy. I had the red curry with prawn plus sticky rice. My wife had chicken stir fry. The lady that served was very kind.

Went there some other few times. The food is consistent but last time they took 40m to get us our food and the place wasn't very busy.
Such a lovely restaurant. The staff are so lovely and helpful and the food is so yummy! Vítor our waiter was wonderful especially considering there were so many of us! There is a lot to choose from so there will definitely be something for everyone. We celebrated a birthday and they decorated a cheesecake last minute for us as we forgot the cake! It was beautiful and delicious. We will definitely be going back, a really great atmosphere. An excellent evening
Salt and Pepper Squid, Prawn Massaman curry we our highlights. We also enjoyed the veggie spring rolls, mussels and pad Thai! Friendly staff and quirky decor, makes for a great dining experience.
Everyone needs to go here. Food and drink are amazing as is the service.

Excellent place for Thai food. My wife and I went here for my birthday meal out and I was very happy with the choice. The menus are authentic, containing some unusual additions. We had the chaing mai mixed started, the salt and pepper squid was to die for, I think it's the best I've evee had! The mainds we're equally as impressive, we had a duck curry and a the melting beef, the curry was exemplar, containing some unusual but authentic ingredients. The cocktails were unique and had some interesting Thai ingredients, there are plenty to choose from, I had the mosquito and thoroughly enjoyed it. They also have a Thai ale which was enjoyed by the both of us, if you are an ale (IPA) fan, I'd recommend it. The staff were attentive but not overly, asked us how everything was at the right points and cleared up promptly. There was a Thai waitress who I believe may have been the manager, she was lovely. If I'm in the area again I will definitely go back for a meal. Keep up the good work and excellent food.
