Took my son to the Santa Special Event yesterday. We arrived early and had a gander at the old trains. We also meet one to the volunteers working on the trains who was very forthcoming with the history. Rashid was impressed being a train fanatic himself. The Santa experience is well worth a booking. All the staff I found very helpful and friendly. Santa was amazing!! Rashid thoroughly enjoyed the train journey and mid stop the chance to see the steam engine toot! Toot! From us.

Visited yesterday as a group of 4 adults and one very excited 2 year old. We loved both the trains and the staff were fantastic, interacting with us and answering questions. The ice cream was also very nice!!

The place is nicely done and they do Christmas and birthday parties so well. All the staff really seem to love it there and it shows through their work. Its like been looked after at your grandparents, quite happily take home an honorary granddad or grandma! x

What a wonderful place to visit. Our son is steam train mad and he absolutely loved it. The staff/ volunteers are so helpful and friendly. We visited here whilst on holiday and would definitely recommend a visit. We pre booked our tickets but wasn't that busy to say it was the August summer holidays.

A birthday treat this time, and what a pleasure! Displays of old Fry's & Cadbury packaging, the old Somerdale engine, a lovely train ride both ways. Recommended for a day out if you like heritage railways.

Lovely restored steam railway open at weekends with a cafe open all week. The track is three miles long which takes about 45 minutes and next to it is a well used walking and cycle path that goes from Bristol to Bath. Freindly volunteers look after the station well with lots of artifacts, although the look is spoilt by some tatty carriages awaiting restoration. Saw some people having Sunday lunch on the train but we just had a quick bite in the cafe.

It is a great place for everyone, not just train enthusiasts. Cafe and shop, and just wonderful to see the steam trains!

What a lovely little heritage railway. Think it’s only about 3 mile in length but worth a visit if you are near. We went on one of the hottest days of the year so unfortunately they were only running a heritage Diesel engine to avoid the possibility of line side fires. Safety first. But this didn’t detract from this beautiful little railway. Very scenic. £9 per person so reasonably priced. Free parking. Staff were lovely and chatty. Clearly enjoying their work. If only in all heritage railways the staff were so nice. Great cafe, outside seating but we sat indoors in a converted rail coach. Very nice. All in a great few hours spent on a great little heritage railway.

I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, but I will admit considering the menu I'd have expected it to have been a faster service. It felt like every order was cooked before the next was started. But I'd go back, I'd just allow for delays. Friendly staff and a wonderful place to enjoy. Worth a visit, just allow time

We had a wonderful morning on the train at one of the special days where they also had some farm animals on site. The train ride was great fun, and the children loved seeing a steam locomotive close up! We had a compartment to ourselves in the carriage which was lovely. Plenty of parking on site, too.

Nice train ride. Lovely old carriages. Bitton station is in the middle of three stations that are in use on the old line. Diesel hauled when I visited because it was too hot & dry for steam. (fire risk) Shop open on running days. Buffet open every day. Lovely place for snacks, meals and drinks. On the Bristol/Bath cycle path too
