Calypso just seems to get better with every visit. I had the kebabs and they were to die for and my hubby had the chicken strips which along with the roast potatoes just melt in your mouth. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait for our next visit..๏ฟฝ
Came here with a party of 21 to celebrate my daughters birthday (4th year she has chose to celebrate here) amazing staff, amazing food and amazing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Staff couldn't do enough to help, even though was a large party not one dish came out wrong or cold-perfection
Have been eating here since the days when they were based under the hotel on Preston New Road, so 7+ years. Unreal food, amazing atmosphere and a place I always recommend to my friends!!
I should be disqualified now for neither liking a) eating or b) Bob Marley, but I definitely like Calypso. The place is sound, proper nice seating by the canal in the sun, good people working there and everybody I was with loved the food. It's definitely one of the places around the whole area I take any mates who visit this way. (After Greggs.)
I initially found this place on a whim and after one visit, it's deffo in my top 3 restaurants!! The food is out of this world and the atmosphere is such a warm, welcoming environment, it's hard not to go back twice in one day!

Excellent place! I visited recently with a friend who recommended it as Iโd never been before & I werenโt disappointed. The food was really good & the decor is done well for the type of restaurant it is. Bob Marley is a legend! Iโve told many people about this place & Iโd love one in or nearer to Preston :)
Superb food, the chicken nuggets my three yr old had were the best iโve tasted in ages. really enjoyed it. Nice location next to the canal as well. Very friendly staff

Been here numerous times and it is a long way to travel from Manchester but the ambience, the warm welcome, Friendly, Polite staff, Great pint, Great service, 5 Star Hygiene rating, Parking spaces, Great setting on the Leeds to Liverpool canal, Great selection of drinks and the food is out of this World ๐.

Had the pleasure of mooring my narrow boat (also named calypso) here this weekend. Can not speak more highly of the place, great ambience, supper friendly staff, amazing food and top gaffer Dave...thank you all for a lovely time and experience..Tony

TurtleBay let us down, Health & Safety no water in area therefore had no option but close! So I'd marked this restaurant to want to go, used Google maps to walk from town centre up the hill, taken us 12mins. It was so worth the wait, a lovely restaurant, very inviting inside, music playing, lovely friendly staff, the young man who who served us was a superb, thank you, I didn't ask your name. Started off with cocktails, offer on 2 for ยฃ10, & you don't have to choose the same, they can both be different ๐ Lush!, Food was amazing, cooked to perfection, service was good too, started getting a little busy, but came over to inform us our order was on it's way, great communication ๐. I went to investigate outside, lot's of seating outside overlooking the river, beautiful scenery & in the sunshine ๐, next visit ๐ ๐. Definitely recommend trying this place & also child friendly, burgers, small starters, or get a couple of sides, main meals, lot's of beers/Gin/juice etc, & it's not too expensive either.
Just been here with my mate, both really enjoyed our food sat in the sun next to the canal. Amazing food for a good price with a cracking atmosphere. Will 100% be going back soon ๐ช๐ป๐๐ป
What a fantastic place, lovely atmosphere, fantastic service from the staff, lovely cocktails and the food was amazing, the meat was so tender and flavours were so good, we ordered the big platter for 2,it could of fed 3 quite easily and really good value for money, they also have a children's menu. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Great place ,great food ,great staff, great location (on the canal) . Shame we couldn't check out the live music that was on the following days (Saturday and Sunday). As I was visiting family and its an hours drive from where i live , i will definitely be visiting again it's worth the drive just for this place alone ,if I lived in Blackburn or Darwin this would definitely be my local i would be in there every day The food was fab, I only had a couple of light bites but I will be back to try everything off the menu (not all at once obviously ๐ ๐
) best place in Blackburn, it will be my go to place when I come over to visit. Food can take about half an hour because they make it fresh, but they tell you in advance how long your wait may be ,child and baby friendly.
I was walking past and seen the bar/restaurant and popped in for lunch. The food was great and the staff were outstanding. Really friendly and attentive. The music was good too. Iโll definitely head back again when in the area
Ordered a collection to be reheated later in the evening. Online ordering was quick and very simple. We ordered a platter with a curry on the side. When I collected the food was well wrapped and the service friendly. The food was awesome even after reheating and more than enough for two people. We saved the 2 curries for the evening after as there was a lot. The food we did eat was excellent and we would definitely order a collection again.
Great food, music, and servers. I had mutton curry, and my wife had the chicken strips. Both meals were top-notch. The servers were polite and really good. An excellent night and we'll be back again soon.

We called in for refreshments after a walk along the canal. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I checked the menu, the restaurant is down for a visit the next time we call over the way
Food was bloody fantastic I was very surprised how nice it was. Everyone loved it, lads working on service where nice friendly and helpful, girls working on the bar where also very nice and cocktails where tasty too. Will definitely be back
