What a gem of a place. Our first but not our last visit. Pleasant and efficient service with well presented and tasty food. Good selection of drinks. I can definitely recommend. Worth booking in advance.

Fantastic food and such a friendly warm welcome. The full English breakfast is the best. We took a friend and she was over the moon, loving the old building and renovations. Highly recommended

Came to Bolsover to go to castle but in need of lunch prior to this. Came across this place. It was lovely inside, modern and clean. I was immediately greater and offered a drink and menu. I ordered the creamed mushrooms. They were lovely and hot with sourdough toast. Paid a visit to loos on way out, also lovely and clean. Staff very quick to clear away used plates and gave excellent customer experience.

Went to the sanctuary garden this morning for breakfast. I am a wheelchair user and access was great. A staff member went out of his way to help us. Toilets were spotless. Staff friendly and food excellent. Fresh lovely produce. Would recommend and will be visiting again.

Stayed overnight in the Rosemary Room, the place was extremely clean, decor was wonderful and all newly done. The room was quiet despite a busy restaurant downstairs. Breakfast service was excellent, and the host very helpful. Would visit again.

What a find! We stayed in a beautifully decorated room (the Lavender room) which was comfortable and spacious. Delicious dinner in the restaurant which was full - with good reason as there is a varied menu and really well cooked food at reasonable prices. Lovely staff who made us very welcome.

Arrived at 12:50pm, Staff were very friendly and courteous, great atmosphere, I don't usually have a starter but glancing at other tables I decided too, faultless to say the least I have never had a Sunday roast like it, simple and stylish on the same plate, we live 45 minutes away but have decided to visit every month! Keep up the Good work Guys and Gals 👌

A carefully modernised old public house, traditional surroundings with some very interesting chairs. Excellent food. Plenty of choice and very friendly efficient service. Can't say to much about beers because we had wine at a responsible price. A quick glance at the bar as we left saw a wide range to most tastes. We will certainly visit again.

Great discovery on a Sunday afternoon on the way to visit the castle. Popped in for a bite to eat and was fully impressed by the relaxed and friendly welcome, modern stylish interior and selection of mouthwatering dishes. Quite tempted by the Sunday lunches going out as the look and smell from them was wonderful. Didn't want to pay the £18 for two courses so opted for two dishes off the small plates menu, a bit like tapas. Went for devilish mushrooms and Welsh rarebit. Really nice quality food and a little different! Lovely outside area with further seating, and raised borders all decked out for summer use. Noticed a good choice of gin, ales and ciders. Pretty sure a good selection of wine would be found, too. Very stylish bistro serving great food, hot drinks, alcohol and snacks for all times of day and budgets.

If I could give 6 stars I would! Cannot recommend highly enough. From start to finish during our stay everything felt like a quality experience. Firstly the staff are fantastic; friendly, helpful and professional, going above and beyond for us and making us feel welcome. You really are a credit to the place. The food tasted delicious and was presented in a very aesthetically pleasing way. Every dish felt well thought through and of the highest quality. We loved it so much we had every meal during our stay here! I loved the tasteful decor for the accommodation and the bed was very comfy. On the topic of location, it is as central as you can get and I would estimate 5 minutes or less walk to the castle. Lastly we booked a massage there during our stay which was also great and helped us relax during the trip. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
