The Black Dog - Bolton - Photo album

A lovely pub to stop off after a walk around Belmont. The food for the price is great, £20 gets you 6 sharing plates which we struggled to finish with how much there was. Dog friendly inside with dog sausages available. Good, safe parking opposite the road
Having travelled around Bolton & surrounding areas with my family trying out the eateries The Black Dog is by far the best place we have eaten in, the food is top quality & reasonably priced & the service is brilliant, been a few times now & will be going a few times more, fantastic
Had lunch here while doing family genealogy in the region. Very cool to think that based on the age of the building, my ancestors may have been in here too for a meal or a pint. Good food and beer.
Been a few times and always found it to be a lovely experience, great good and great price with good range of beers and friendly service. Outside tables for a nice day and plenty of seating inside but note that although there's a ramp to get in it is quite steep so wheelchair users and people using
Stopped here on the way home for a meal with a little one, who's very picky with his food, but here he ate his food without fuss. All food we had, was very delicious, especially chicken gyozas. Definitely will be back again 😊
Went here today only for a quick lunch. Consequently, I can not comment on the rooms etc. The quality of the fish and chips I had was good, in my understanding a bit dry. The location themselves is excellent. The place is in an very old house next to an old church.
1st time visitors and had some lovely food, reasonably priced, but did think £9.10 for 2 pints of shandy a little steep, however we will revisit in the future.
Not been for a while however really enjoyed our experience staff wre accommodating pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them food was good 👍 only downside no eggs but meal was really good ...desert was.brill sticky toffe pud when asked for custard and ice cream together they sorted that ...
Visited this pub in the middle of a very wet bike ride. Staff were very helpful and let me keep my bike somewhere safe. Food was yummy and filling.
Friendly hosts & staff. Lovely country pub and good, fairly priced grub. Double room cumfy, warm and clean... but "tired". The window needs attention and areas of the walls require a lick of paint. Great area for walks... I enjoyed my stay.
Not been in the Black Dog for about 30yrs it's changed a bit, just popped in for a bite to eat with the other half, so I had a pint as it was Holts beer 🍺 My Dad's favourite pint, the beer was good, well maintained cellar I should think, staff where very freindly and very accommodating, good banter
Good parking, great food and good service. The only item missing for me is some form of facility for children, otherwise I would visit much more often than I do now.
Lovely cosy little place, usually rammed in summer but nice and peaceful in winter. Only had a drink but will stop for food next time. Update: revisited in mid Jan for a Sunday family meal, and was not disappointed at all. The waitress even suggested options for a Sunday lunch we had not seen that b
