Lovely pub! We went for dinner whilst staying in the area. We all enjoyed the food, waitresses were all lovely and although we didn't bring our dog, it's great that they do allow dogs 😀

We planned our trip to Boot Inn to coincide with a walk from Wasdale Head on Easter Sunday. After our 5 mile trek it was great to be welcomed to this friendly pub. We were originally booked to eat inside but opted to sit in the pub garden as it was a lovely day. I had the beef and my partner had the lamb, the roast dinners were surprisingly good for the location, totally unexpected in such a small village. In particular we loved the variety and flavour of the vegetables that came with the roasts, the meat was also great quality. Such a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The staff are also all very attentive and friendly, and the choice of beers is a plus. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at the nearby NT campsite, went for a walk with the dog and finished off with a pint and a packet of crisps - glorious. Whilst there booked for an evening meal. Service was fantastic, food was brilliant, beer smashing and Snoop Dawg was allowed in too. I can highly recommend this place and if it’s still on, try the Apple and Peach Crumble with a kick.

Lovely pub! We visited after traveling on the steam train with 4 kids and a dog, we were given a nice big table. My partner is coeliac and can't have gluten, the staff are knowledgeable about allergens and cross contamination, they have an allergen menu and the chips were also safe to eat.

Absolutely fantastic place. We booked for a Sunday lunch, booking was easy and had confidence as they took my number just in case. The beer garden and play area where very charming and peaceful. Small field for the play area with a couple of swings. Patio type area with quite a few wooden tables and chairs. Inside we were greeted very warmly and seated by a very friendly woman. Menus provided quickly and order taken promptly, lovely selection on the vegan and vegetarian specials board as well as the main menu and children's menu. The food was delicious, hot and served really quickly. Even so we never felt rushed and had a lovely table in a little nook. We were playing a few games of uno around waiting for our mains and then waiting for our desserts and when we hadn't quite finished a game when our youngest daughter had gone out to play we were told there was no rush to leave as the table wasn't booked again for a few hours. It was so relaxing and the food was amazing and good service that it will be our go to pub for food whenever we are in Eskdale now, thoroughly recommend the place if you are in the area.

Stayed overnight at this pub/hotel and quite honestly I can’t fault it. We had a very warm welcome on our arrival from super friendly staff. We had our dog with us and he was also made very welcome. The room we had was lovely and spacious. Again, I can’t fault it as it was sparkling clean and had a great view of the hills and surrounding countryside. The en-suite was problem free and we had plenty of towels for our overnight stay. Biscuits and tea and coffee were provided in the room which was an added bonus. The food was of the highest quality. Expertly cooked and well presented. The evening meal had a vast choice of daily specials and we were spoilt for choice. The free breakfast was one of the tastiest I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this pub either with or without your pet as it is superb.

We blew a tyre up the mountain and a local took us to The Boot Inn. We honestly couldn’t have ended up at a better pub! Such a quaint, cosy, traditionally English pub. The owners were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful! The food was fantastic and the options on the menu were refreshingly varied. Definitely a pub to visit if you’re in the area! We’ll certainly be back! :)
