Went for a themed night, food was good if a bit pricey. Very quiet, no fault of the publican but no one else eating at the time due to 4 table no shows....that is not fair on the business. Apparently it's a lot busier at the weekends

Two of us went for Sunday lunch on the first May bank holiday weekend. Both had the roast beef. We had a late lunch (2pm) and I was slightly worried the food might be limited or ‘the dregs’. Could not have been more wrong. The roast was the best we’ve ever had out. The beef (2 huge slices) was really flavourful and so tender and there was a good assortment of vegetables. A huge Yorkshire pudding and properly crunchy roast potatoes, which are a rarity when eating out, were all served with a good gravy and an extra pot of gravy. Friendly service and a lovely cosy interior. Will definitely go back!! Thanks.

Since the new owners, the pub has been tastefully refurbished and retained its character. The food was excellent with a price to match. The menu is changed daily as the food is always cooked fresh. Hopefully, the cost doesn't put too many people off from paying regular visits though.

If you want good food at a fair price in a lovely old pub, all set in the corner of a quiet little English village this is the place. We'll be back.

Perfect location, with a beautiful terraced garden with plenty of shade leading down to a stream at the bottom. Decent beer. Haven't tried the food yet, but the menu looks really good.

So I wouldn’t normally give 5 stars to a pub or bar unless there is a very wide selection of craft beers/ales as that’s my preference to where I drink. Therefore I should be giving 4 stars as to be consistent. However, the service was fantastic! They made me feel like a local, the food was lovely and I really want to go back. It is a bit of a distance for me to travel for a pub lunch but I recon it’s worth it. Worth a visit on the friendliness of the staff alone, food can always be a subjective topic but going on my lunch it was wonderful.
