Eldo Cake House

I buy the durian cake here for every one of my family members birthdays. Their cakes are layered with fresh fruits and actual durian fruit. The prices are very reasonable. I’ve been going here for many years and they maintain the quality throughout the years. American cakes are boring and way to sweet.

Eldo is my favorite bakery in Chinatown! With the freshest, flakiest, softest pastries and bread, I always stop in whenever I come into the city. Everything here is super affordable, the people behind the counter make it easy to order if you don't speak any Chinese, and there's always something if you have a sweet tooth or are looking for something savory. Pictured is the green tea swiss roll. Look on the wall right above the bakery case on the left - there's a menu of all of the buns and baos not in the pastry case (like the char siu, custard, and red bean baos). I always carry cash because of this place.

The best place to buy cake!! Not overly sweet and very delicious! They have other desserts too but their cakes are the best! They have strawberry, peach, chestnut and taro fillings! Chestnut and taro fillings needs to be requested a day or two in advance! My favorite is the taro, which is pictured below!

One of the better bakery in Chinatown with a vast selection of pastries and cakes. In all the years, I have never been disappointed with anything I have tried from Eldo Cake House. This is the one place I try to get to when i'm in the area. If you are in the mood for something sweet, this is the place. You're be happy you did.
